If they're waiting too long, make them leave, but it's not parking until then engine is off.

It's inconvenient to other motorists, yes, but double jeopardy is such a dishonest way to discourage waiters. They should merely put "no waiting" signs in the proper areas.

new money generating scheme? anybody heard about a new makati city ordinance regarding this?
It really doesn't matter if you're inside your vehicle when your park on a "No Parking" Zone, you're still parking on that area even when your hazard light is ON. By the way, we need to stop pinging on our law enforcement personnel. If they do their job, we label them with another scheme that they are implementing, but if they won't do anything we label them lazy. Damn if they do, damn if they don't.

good point. But shouldn't they just ask the people to leave instead of giving them a ticket? magulo kasi implementation of the law, kahit sa no parking zone, they won't tow you if you're inside your car. It's not as much having your hazard lights on, but the presence of the driver inside the car.

normally sa ganyang kaso na naka-on ang engine, nakahazard, but illegally parked, obstruction ata ang violation mo. since you're not suppose to park there, you're already obstructing the flow of traffic (if parked on the road side).

Was ticketed once while waiting for my wife at my usual spot. Did not contest it dahil mali ko talaga yon.
