ANybody here have been victimized by the city hall of Manila already?? like clamping your wheels or rim ata with padlock so that you cannot move your car.. This is now the favorite thing to do of tha Manila city Hall Wrecker boys, they do away now of towing your car to impunding area and instead they do this... Now yo have to pay fine at city Hall in order for your car to be release of this clamping gadget... WHat a way for them to earn fast buck nowadays and at random anywhere anytime... so fellow tsikoteers be careful always where you park in the city of manila... Bagong racket ito ni atienza kasi kelangan niya bumawi sa kaban ng city hall for next year elections...tsk tsk..

I started seeing this along UN avenue (nr WPD HQ) last thursday afternoon. Most of the cars parked there were clamped down.

nakakita na ako niyan sa downtown manila last year. mali naman iyung car kasi naka park sa kanto ng gandara st. and ongpin. so mahirap mag right turn ang mga cars. ginagaya nila parang sa states. tama in some ways pero sana hwag nilang abusohin....

Cebu City is using the Denver type of clamp some years back They will page the owner of the illegaly parked car thru the loudspeaker of the traffic car 3x. If the owner will not respond thats the time they clamped it.

I dont know if they are still doing it, a lawyer who had his car clamped went to court questioniing its legality.

900 petot yung fine. They will tow the car away after 3 hours if you have not paid the fine and removed it. Yung tinitira nila yung mga tsikot na nakapark sa right side ng one-way.

oks lang yan. better than to be towed since more damage to the car may happen.

sana nga wag ma-abuso. kung mali nga ang pag park, e d i-clamp. ust has been doing that for years too

Bolt-cutter can cut thru the padlock but I dont think it is a good idea, you can be sued for damaging government property if you do that. It happened once in Cebu the guy was fined 15T-20T as a replacement for the damaged clamp

As long as its not abused nga, possibly a better option than rapidly towing the car, w/c as I witnessed one in action, damaged the towed car a bit, as well as no info was left somewhere for the owner by the tow truck, to inform him/her of what happened. At least sa clamp, the ride is still there, and if the owner/driver wants to contest the accused offense, he/she can still pic the actual parking and clamping.

the US has been doing this for sometime. kung illegally parked naman talaga, tama lang naman "hulihin" nila. and isn't this a lot better than going back and not seeing your car where you left it? at least hindi ka na kakabahan na baka na carnap ang auto mo. also, there's no danger na ma-da-damage ang auto mo by inexperienced towing guys.

as for those asking if the clamp can be broken, bakit naman? this forum is all about highlighting those who break traffic laws, diba?

pero tama din si caloyski5, sana hindi abusuhin.

Kung hindi aabusuhin, mas maganda na yan kesa mag tow sila, iwas damage. May iba kasing pasaway na drivers who are asking for it.

tanong lang, bakit naglalagay ng no parking sign? diba para hindi ka makaabala ng traffic? so tama lang ung pag tow. e kung i-clamp ung auto mo ano matutulong non sa traffic? yes, mas madali para sa mga illegal parking e ano pa silbi nung pag lagay ng illegal parking kung hahayaan ka lang din mag park don as long as you can pay. parang mahal na parking space lang ang mangyayari.

i agree with flakeZ. kaya pinagbabawal mag-park sa ilang lugar kasi pwedeng maging cause ng traffic. eh kung 3 hours kang nala clamp bago ka tow, 3 hours ka ring nakakaabala. parang di maseserve yung purpose ng no parking.
