Wag naman lasunin.. kawawa din naman yung aso.. just teach the dog FEAR. When I was in high school may aso din kapitbahay namin na ganyan.. tahol ng tahol tapos nanghahabol ng mga dumadaan sa tapat nila. What I did is pick up a few pieces of stone and the moment he comes charging at me I unloaded a couple of flying stones. One of which hit the dog's forehead hard. Tumigil yung aso and backed off. The next day he sees me, he still barks at me pero cautious na sya. I just pretend to pick up stones and act like throwing it at him, ayun nagtatatakbo na pauwi. He never had the same aggression towards me. Nagdadalawang isip na sya at baka maulit yung naramdaman nyang sakit.

If it happens to you, you can hit the dog as long as nasa harap na yan ng bahay mo. It's not their property anymore and the dog is already too aggressive kaya self defense lang yan kung gagawin mo.

that is pretty much my reason. im conflicted about killing it due to my love for dogs and fear of repercussions of some law here in the philippines if i choose to kill for self-defense.

crouching and pretending to reach for object move kinda works, but the dog still lunges. it's frightening!

so is there some spray to make a barrier to keep the dog away or is annihilation the only and last resort?

1. Take a video of you, with an indication of the date/time from a incorrigible third party like a TV, and a letter of complaint clearly shown with the words, and you dropping the letter into the dog owner's mailbox.
2. Arm yourself if need be against the animal.
3. Make sure that there's a comprehensive video of you getting out and the dog suddenly attacking you and you fight back. Make sure you use reasonable force.

This is in defense in case the owners turn douchebag and decide to harass/complain about you/press charges if you injure/accidentally kill their dog. You have evidence that you tried a reasonable approach and their neglect for it, and that you were acting in defense.

dogs are very intelligent creatures and they are masters of body language.
HINDI LAHAT NG ASO AATRAS SA PANININDAK MO!
the more you shoo them away, the more they will initiate FEAR within them (maybe).
FEAR will trigger them to FIGHT.

as i've said before, if possible, supress your FEAR when there are dogs nearby. when we are afraid we release PHEROMONES. these pheromones when smelled by dogs triggers them to make a move. to them FEAR=ANGER=FIGHT. so naturally before being harmed they instinctively defend themselves.
when threatened, dogs either- FREEZE, FLEE or FIGHT.

so if in a situation where the dog is going to attack, it's much better to stay where you are or hold your ground and be calm. don't run and do crazy things. just let the tension die down.
and don't look them in the eyes.
and lastly......

NEVER MIND THE DOG, BEWARE OF THE OWNER!

Remember Animal Welfare act RA 8485. Amo ng doggie ang dapat sisihin. Di marunong mag alaga ng doggie niya, kahit pa sabihin na pinakakakain mabuti, etc. kaya ganyan yung doggie kasi kulang sa pasyal. sabi nga ni cesar millan, di lang kailangan ang malaking bakuran. iba pa rin ang lakad na ang amo ang nagle-lead. in case lumabas yung aso, tumagilid ka lang, pero may pang depensa ka para maprotektahan ka. harangan mo ng bag, payong, etc.kailangan maging kalmado ka, relaxed at assertive. huwag mong titignan sa mata. challenge ang ibig sabihin sa doggies yun.

It's not the dog's fault. If any of those imb*cile owners had any ounce of common sense, they just have to tell the maid to tie up or cage the dog before opening the gate.

this is the best way to tell the household help. but still, it's the OWNER's responsibility. Gusto lang masabi na may aso sila.

My heartfelt sympathy. It's really nightmarish to deal with pesky neighbors. Your home is supposed to be your sanctuary and it's the last place you want to be harassed.

No matter what happens, do not hurt the dog. It is the owner's fault not the dog. The behavior of the dog is just a result of how it was raised. It can still be corrected.

The barangay was correct in advising you to talk things out with your neighbor because that is standard procedure. You should make a petition or letter signed by your neighbors to have a stronger case against your neighbor. It's not a joke to get chased or worse bitten by the dog. Can your neighbor show for complete shots on their dog? If not their dog poses a threat to the community. I suggest that your letter include the possible harm that the dog could inflict on the neighborhood so it would be easier for your neighbors to sign. However by making this petition, it's a guarantee that your relationship with your neighbor will be strained even more as the letter is an open declaration of war.

Please weigh things also, is it worth it not to be in good terms with your neighbor or just take the nuisance that their dog brings? You don't know your neighbors. You don't know what their reaction will be. You don't know what they are capable of. Proceed with caution.

Anong klaseng kapitbahay meron ka TS? Wala man lang kunsiderasyon. Kung sa akin yan nangyayari na ilang beses na akong ina-attack ng aso nila, susugurin ko yang kapitbahay at aawayin ko talaga. Pano kung sa ibang kapamilya ko nangyari na hindi kayang idepensa sarili nila.
Mahilig din ako sa aso kaya alam ko pano maging responsableng may-ari ng aso. Pero sa ganyang sitwasyon mo pag walang response may ari sasaktan ko na talaga yung aso kesa ako maunahan ng rabies.
