April 10th, 2012 04:30 PM #1This happened on April 5, 2012 (Holy Thursday/Maundy Thursday). We were traveling on the way to Batangas from Makati. As we were approaching the tollgate sa itaas, we were stopped by the Skyway/PNCC patrol people.
WTF. Wala man lang allowance or tolerance of 20% (up to 120 km/h na tulad sa NLEX).
Anyways, my dad refused (and for valid reason kasi kelangan nya since magmamaneho siya sa America for a one week business trip).
And correct me if I'm wrong pero AFAIK, may ruling or TRO sa Supreme Court na hindi puwede i-confiscate ang vehicle license plate.
IMHO, I think this is bullshit for many reasons:
-Unang-una, bullshit yung uber-slow na 100 km/h for Skyway for private cars (in dry weather conditions). I bet na hindi man lang sila gumawa ng research study for this.
Hypocrites talaga.
-Nag-enforce na confiscate ang drivers license ng nagmamaneho WHEN IN FACT they have no authority para gawin iyon (like yung ginagawa ng mga ilang MMDA na tauhan)
-Forced confiscation of front license plate when they have no authority to do so
And to think, lahat ng mga buwaya na may speed gun ay nasa Skyway (itaas) pero sa ilalim, walang mga enforcers dun. Bakit kaya?
Anyways, now that confiscated yung front license ng kotse, kukunin pa ng tatay ko yung plaka sa may East Avenue. Hayzz.
:bash::ohno:
Pero guys ano sa tingin niyo? Personally, I think this BS talaga. It's like they pulled a random number for a speed limit out of their ass......tapos ginawang law. . Tapos, for mild over speeding like 114 km/h, huli na. Heck, I've heard nga na may nahuhuli pa na 102 km/h and even 101 kph MY GOD what are those Skyway enforcers smoking.
There is definitely something that is ****ed up around here, won't you guys agree?

The max speed is 100kph. The lesson learned never assume.
100kph may be slow but you are still not justified to go above it.
I think these guys are deputized by LTO that is why you have to claim your license or plate at the LTO office in QC or LTO office in Lipa (if you were caught in Laguna).

FYI, they have the authority to confiscate the license...secondly that's their policy so you just have to follow it, Bakit pag pumapasok ka sa mga villages binibigyan mo rin license mo, mas Wala naman yata ng authority yun mga security guards, but you still follow dahil patakaran nila...
Third hinde sila bwaya dahil they didn't ask for bribes sa tatay mo...Saka matagal ng Meron speed limit sa skyway...
Don't bash them and whine here Kung Mali naman talaga kayo...
And yes, they're right, you're wrong...Last edited by shadow; April 10th, 2012 at 04:46 PM.

ano ba speed limit sa skyway? 100kph?

Bro, how did the traffic enforcers at the skyway able to factually and irrefutably say that you're over speeding at 114KPH? did they present any evidence like a freeze frame picture shot of you're vehicle and you're license plate while doing 114KPH? did the 114KPH speed only lasted a few seconds or not?
The burden of proof kasi is on the apprehending authority... I believe that if did run for 114KPH but only for a brief time to overtake then its acceptable, but the law is the law brother... 101KPH is still over speeding...
I understand you're opinion regarding the argument of what is the necessary and scientifically needed speed limit...
from my point of view 100kph is slow for a "SKYWAY"
there are 3 lanes on skyway from makati to las pinas,
*i think the inner left lane should be mandated to have a 120kph limit,
*the middle lane should have a max of 100kph
*while the third lane at the right should have 60-80kph speed limit...
*of course all the buses and public utility is mandated to use the 80kph limit....
speed doesn't kill... (speed is always subjective, what maybe fast or slow might be not what others perceive)

Sir the company I work for serves the nlex. Talagang 120kph before apprehensions are made. Pero hindi kasi official rule ito so even at 101 kph pwede ka hulihin kung gusto ng officer. Mainit mga yan pag maganda oto mo. Gusto maka kill akala mo video game.
But why 120? Because they have to allow for speedometer error especially on vehicles that are running non standard tire sizes.
Sir pwede nila kunin ang DL. I wont berate you on that anymore. Deputized kasi sila even if their training and work ethic leaves a lot to be desired.
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
