MANILA, Philippines – An hour after she sent a cryptic text message to her co-workers, a call center supervisor was found dead in Quezon City.
It was only after her body was found that her officemates finally understood what she might have wanted to tell them.
Rue Ann Salvador, 24, an employee of the Pacific Business Group Limited in Makati City, was found at the corner of Matatag and Maunawain Streets in Barangay Pinyahan, Diliman. She had been stabbed several times in the neck. Her face was badly bruised.
A Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit report said the victim was found at around 5:30 a.m. Monday by a barangay tanod, Benjamin Navarez.
Police said Salvador’s bag and cell phone were missing. She was identified through an ATM card and a company ID found in her pants’ pocket.
SPO1 Mario Toriano told the Inquirer that an hour before Salvador was found, she had sent a text message about the plate number of a vehicle to her co-workers. “The victim may have been aboard a cab when she sent the message,” he said.
Police are now looking for the owner of the vehicle with the plate number texted by the victim.
