got this from an officemate. . .i'm not sure if a thread about this already exists, i just wanna be sure that a warning is raised here at tsikot. . .

    ingat mga bro, sis

Taken from Grupo Toyota boards…. ingat lang

An incident happened to a friend of mine last Friday night at around
11:30pm. He was cruising along C5 Taguig area going towards Pasig on
board his ae92. He was running at approximately 80kph at the leftmost
    lane.

center island about 100 meters away. Hindi naman daw mukhang tatawid
so hindi na siya nag-menor. Pagtapat niya dun sa dalawa, BANG! Nabasag
bigla window ng pinto niya. He slowed down and medyo lito pa siya
He looked back and
nakita niya na humahabol yung dalawang binatilyo. One was carrying a
bag and the other was carrying what seemed to him as a lead pipe. That
was when he decided to floor it and go straight dun sa malaking Petron
    station just ahead.

Just as he was entering the gas station, sinalubong na siya ng guard
Upon explaining what
happened, all the staff of the Petron station helped him na malinis
yung mga bubog sa katawan niya and to look for a large plastic
They also told my friend na madalas daw na
Galing no?

Well, good thing e yung binato sa kanya e mainly tumama sa may taas ng
pinto and not squarely on the glass window. If not, malamang sa

It pays to be really attentive to your
And if ever
    ulan.

    Salamat po!
Kindly forward to all those who pass this area especially in the wee hours, tnx.

Actually I think way back early 2000, there are incidents like this happening along C-5 road na. Just take EDSA route at night, the police are helpless on this, the offenders would escape by the dark alleys and mingle with everyone else. They should station a mobile car at that area every night to deter these incidents.

guys, post ko lang yung reply from Mayor Tinga's office (got it in my inbox):

    From: freddie tinga <ft*taguig.gov.ph>
Date: Fri, Jun 19, 2009 at 9:19 AM
Subject: CITY OF TAGUIG CHIEF OF POLICE RESPONSE TO INCIDENTS ALONG C-5

We have recently received an e-mail forwarded to us by several sources regarding an alleged stoning incident along C-5 road in Taguig.

Immediately after we received the e-mail message, we checked whether there was a record of such incident along C-5 Road as was mentioned in the e-mail. There was a report from the security guards on duty at Petron that night that a man with a broken window approached them, but hurriedly went away just as the Taguig Mobile Patrol were arriving to assist.

We are aware that there have been, and continue to be security issues along C-5, which is why we have 24 hour mobile patrol units running up and down the length of this thoroughfare (not all of C-5 is in Taguig, but we patrol those areas as well). The City has also installed over 100 secuirty cameras, several of them along C-5 to monitor vital points, detect illegal acts, and dissuade bad elements from preying on our constituents. These are all operated from a Central Command Center connected to the City's own call center where our contact agents promptly address the caller's problem. the number to call is 640-2222. This line is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You will also notice that the government is undertaking road-widening projects along C-5 Road, which will help clear the area from vendors and illegaly parked vehicles. Additional lighting facilities on the on the peripheral areas and overpasses are also being set-up to deter crime along these stretches of the road. MMDA is also in the process of sealing off the sides of C-5, so as to prevent people from crossing the highway. Finally, the City Government of Taguig has been in talks with Gawad Kalinga as well as various developers regarding the redevelopment of the frontage of C-5.

While it is difficult for us to confirm or deny the alleged incident that was referred to in the e-mail that your received, since it was not picked up by our cameras, nor where we able to track down the purported victim. This has also allowed us to inform you of the projects and programs that the Taguig City Police and the City Government are undertaking in our efforts to make the City a safe place for you to live and work in.

We realize it is so easy to spread stories and innuendo; so we would also like to request your kind indulgence to pass on this e-mail so that the truth may also be heard.

Thank you and rest assured that we are doing our best to make our City the safest in the Country.
