Every year, pag Nuebe de Pebrero, lagi na lang kaming mga tiga Mandaluyong/San Juan/Manila area naiipit sa monstrous traffic jam caused by this stupid parade. What's appalling is the lack of common sense of the organizers.

I was going to Pedro Gil from San Juan and knowing that Kalentong will be closed, I took Luna Mencias and tried to to get to Acacia lane toward F Martinez and past the City Hall to turn right at J. Rizal bridge before the parade arrives para makarating ako ng Lambingan. Pero inabot ako and ALL vehicles were made to turn right at Haig street. All left turns towards Shaw were closed hanggang makarating ako sa Kalentong about an hour later. And when I reached the Kalentong/Shaw intersection, ayaw kami padiretsohin and pinapaturn left naman ako pabalik toward where I came from!

Every year na lang ganito. And what is the parade all about? Eto:

Mga residents, city hall employees and other groups professing their love for the Mayor!

I understand your grievance, hindi naman kelangan mag parade every Feb.9, just a simple program near city hall would be enough. The Abalos clan has been in power here since 1986, political dynasty na din ito.

I once argued with an enforcer nung hindi niya ako pinapasok sa isang adjacent street tagos ng Shaw because of this parade.

I agree.

I also had an argument with the enforcer nung pinapaturn left ako. I stood my ground and refused turn.

Heads-up for those planning to go to Mandaluyong and other neighboring cities. Avoid Kalentong,Shaw blvd, Aglipay and Nueve de Pebrero area! The Mandaluyong government will hold its annual stupid parade again tomorrow. Note that they just close the streets without providing any alternative routes. Buwisit!
