CSA 'bully' dad's Dasma car linked to 'friend' Peping Cojuangco

MANILA, Philippines-(UPDATE 2:55 PM) The car used by Allan Bantiles, who allegedly pointed a gun at a student of Colegio de San Agustin (CSA), is linked to his ‘friend,’ political leader and sportsman Jose “Peping” Cojuangco.

According to InterAksyon.com’s source in Dasmarinas Village where the school is located, Bantiles’ car sticker was sponsored by Cojuangco, who has a home in the upscale Makati subdivision. Bantiles, who has already been banned from CSA’s school grounds, allegedly slapped and threatened student Jamie Garcia before pointing a gun to his head.

Bantiles’ reaction stemmed from an incident where Jamie punched Bantiles’ son, ‘JB’, for allegedly taunting him.

Jamie’s father, Mike, moved to have Bantiles’ Dasmarinas Village car sticker revoked to prevent him from entering the subdivision, but was surprised to find out that the sticker was registered under Cojuangco.

Another source told InterAksyon.com that Bantiles is a “favored contractor” of Peping and that the two were “very close” and have had several projects in the past.

Reached for comment, Cojuangco confirmed with InterAksyon.com that the two of them know each other but denied having work or business relations with him.

“He is a friend BUT not a contractor,” he said in a text message.

"Mr Bantiles is a good friend of mine. Since it is in the court already, let us just wait for the results before we start condemning anyone."

Research by InterAksyon.com found that Peping's wife, and rumored senatorial hopeful Tingting, is a member of CSA's board of trustees.

Meanwhile, Bantiles’ lawyer Richard Nethercott said he did not know what businesses his client is engaged in, except for one bakery enterprise, which he refused to elaborate on.

Earlier, the Garcias filed for a petition to have Bantiles’ gun license revoked. Mike told InterAksyon.com Bantiles owned a Colt and a .45-caliber gun.

At posting time, the PNP announced the gun license had been revoked.
