Last Saturday at around 1PM in the afternoon, my wife's celfone got stolen
inside the Caltex convenience store (Star Mart) in Alabang (fronting S&R
Price Smart in A-Z Road). Her cousin lost around 20K cash also.
Hinatid ko si misis at this said place after lunch last Saturday (Jan.5)
as her cousin was going to pick her up there and they were to proceed to a catering function later in the evening at Pontefino Hotel
in Batangas City.
Pag dating namin sa Caltex wala pa yung cousin niya so we waited in
front of the Star Mart store where there were deck chairs and tables
lining the front. There was no one there except us and a young guy
(in his early 20s) seated at the far end to our left. He kept looking
our way every few minutes and I thought nothing of it kasi I thought that he
was probably waiting for his date to arrive. True enough in a few minutes
dumating ang isang girl (also in her early 20s) na medyo blondie pa nga
yung buhok and sat beside him. What I found "odd" was that the two of them
still kept looking our way every few minutes. Hindi naman ako na-alarm kasi
very personable naman yung itsura nila and looked just like any other young
couple.
In about 15 minutes dumating na yung sundo ni misis. Bumaba yung cousin
ni misis and they both entered the store to buy some snacks for their trip.
I was left outside where I carried my wife's stuff to her cousin's Strada
pickup. I loaded it into the backseat and had a conversation with the
driver while waiting for them to come out. After 5 minutes lumabas na sila
and left our separate ways.
After about 5 minutes (I was just going past Alabang Town Center), I got a call from her cousin saying that my wife's celfone was missing as well as some cash in her bag. We decided to go back to Caltex to investigate.
Sabi ni misis the young couple to our left also entered the store and she
distinctly remembered the guy brushing past them in one of the aisles.
When we talked to the store staff and security guard, their reaction and
behaviour was somewhat "fishy". They seemed nervous and tight-lipped.
I asked for their manager or supervisor pero umalis daw.
Hindi naman sila siguro in cahoots with those young thieves but I suspect
marami nang nangyayaring nakawan doon and they're just trying to hush
it up. I'm planning to go back there tomorrow to confront the manager.
So guys ingat lang tayo always. Its not only in Divisoria or Quiapo while commuting where we can be victimized. Even in Alabang while driving
to a spacious and not-crowded place like Caltex Star mart can danger lurk!

IMO, masyadong hilaw ang kuwento and it could be unfair to the 2 young people in the store and the establishment itself. Not unless accomplished mandurukot yung guy eh mahirap kumuha ng cellphone at pera sa bag just by brushing past you. Was the bag open or zippered?

Lets not point any finger till sun comes up. Whatever happened is not a good one and a very frustrating situation. Its a lesson, be more vigilant and avoid flashing the very invited things to any hawkeye.

humaba. My wife's celfone was in the back pocket of her jogging pants so
medyo madali ngang makuha. Also my term "brushing past you" is not too accurate kasi she felt na parang hinipuan siya slightly. And she was sure
that it was this young guy outside who was there with them in the store.
Her cousin's money was in a bundle in an open bag without zipper as this
was cash from catering collection. So all in all, hindi ganun kahirap tirahin
ng isang magaling kumana.
The staff's reaction was really fishy because the natural reaction is
surprise and curiosity by asking us questions.
Nabanas ako and I said "obvious
And they were looking at each other conspiratorially
and all kept quiet after that. Very abnormal talaga.
I'm going back there tomorrow and I'll talk to the manager to inform him
that his place is being visited by thieves and they should at least be
vigilant from now on to protect their customers.
And the
goddamned thief had the arrogance to call back (missed call) after a few
minutes. I hope I see that guy there again tomorrow. I'll surely whack him
on the head with my steering wheel lock club no questions asked!

marami talagang MO ngayon.. just last christmas season.. yung boss ko nadale naman sa SM Makati.. habang pababa nang escalator..nagkunwaring naipit yung babae sa harap nya na ***ing ***y pa ang suot ha.. eh kasunod na sya so ang tendency eh tulungan yung babae.. ayun.. kakuntsaba pala yung lalaki sa likod.. nadukot agad yung wallet nya sa front pocket pa nakalagay ha.. mahaba kasi wallet nya siguro nakalabas yung dulo.. in seconds.. tangay yung wallet nya.. lahat nang credit cards, about 500$ at siguro mga 5T in pesos..
