guys, just like to share this incident 2 days ago and I hope you could give some advise too..

at about 1 am, our next floor neighbor (ibaba lang namin) called us by phone to ask for help kasi may nagbubukas ng bintana nila (huling huli pa daw niya). The culprit/s was/were able to get away (wala naman nakuha) pero naisip namin baka nasa neighborhood lang so we decided to go to the police to report the incident.

Along the way, nasalubong namin yung Mobile PNP patrol aboard a mitsu adventure. So we had no choice but to follow them. We followed them for about 5 more mins. During that time, I was constantly flashing my light and making light touches on the car horn.

Nung nagsawa na ata sila sa kakasunod namin, huminto sila ng konti so we had to overtake them. It was then that we informed them of the situation but not until we got into some nerve racking encounter-sabi nung mga police nakaready na daw yung mga baril nila ready to fire at us if necessary.

I told them I was constantly flashing my headlight to signify an emergency pero hindi daw nila nakikita.

Pero at least walang nangyaring ontoward incident. Miscommunications like these are dangerous especially for us ordinary citizens.

It happend at 9 pm. Ganyan kaaga. Tsk tsk.. Sa mga Baguio peeps, I think its time to be more vigilant kasi rampant na ang nakawan ngayon.

Anyway, for me, I would have turned off my headlights, then flashed it repeatedly. Kasi pag naka-on tapos fina-flash, medyo hindi rin halata. And I would have opened my window, turned on the hazard and signaled with my arms frantically.

Best would be to keep the number of your local police and barangay patrol.

excuse me for my opinion, but most police are not knowledgeable on helping people without someone actually telling them they need help. in other countries, what the post starter did, already triggers them to stop and assist a needy motorist/person. for me, what the police said is just an excuse.. police nga sila..dapat they are trained to see different signs. granted if the police excuse is true, if they are to ambush them, regardless if tumatakbo sila...bad people will start shooting and not flash their headlights first...

first of all, police needs to be trained on signs of helping people. come up with promotions on what people should do to get their attention.

sorry tlga..wla ako tiwala sa police sa atin. everytime i see them..i see Peso sign sa face nila.

i just hope one day..ill be wrong and they really do their job. (i know meron tlga exemption to the rule)

Keep a list of emergency phone numbers. Who knows it will be handy someday. If the culprits are still within the neighborhood, as you've said, mas lalong delikado kung lalabas kayo.

Yup, dapat patayin ung ilaw, {i do this pag may check point (dami nito sa qc) para di na parahin pa, makita agad ng lespu ung occupants} this way you can get their attention.

How do you call the attention of Mobile Police Patrol
