Nissan Patrol Pinasabog along EDSA

A silver Nissan Patrol was bombed today along EDSA in front of SM City North EDSA. It was carrying members of the Aguirre-Dy (confirm?) family. If we can recall, one of the Aguirre-Dy's was also killed when a bomb placed in the dashboard/glovebox went off inside the Pajero Field Master he was riding in. The Nissan Patrol in today's incident had a bomb placed somewhere aft of the passenger compartment. After the fire, only the area from the doors forward, remained intact. Passengers of the said vehicle have been taken to Capitol Medical Center though I don't know what has happened to them as of this writing.

CarGirl actually texted me about a Nissan Patrol starting to go up in flames along EDSA. I was at a nearby church at the time and was thinking whether I should respond or not. I was thinking it might just be an electrical fire or something. When I finally got on-site, I could see how much force the explosion had, almost ripping the rear end of the Patrol out. The police where already at the scene and the victims extricated from the vehicle so I did not go down from my vehicle anymore.

I dont get it how do you make a bomb out of a grenade? saw from the news 2nite that the two incidents had grenades as culprits. it's either they dont use the aircon too often and an assassin threw 'em in like basketball or they bring their own grenade duds with 'em

one way of "planting" the bomb would be habang tumatambay ang driver... gawain nila ang iniiwan bukas mga bintana and doors habang nagpapahinga.

[SIZE=2] Bomb planted in vehicle explodes, injures three

A homemade bomb exploded Sunday in a utility vehicle in front of SM Annex on EDSA, wounding three people in an attack police said may have been caused by business rivalry.

The Philippine National Police quickly ruled out terrorism or destabilization in the blast.

The vehicle was being driven by Patrick Aguirre near a shopping mall in Quezon City when the blast ripped off its backside and ignited a fire, injuring him, his mother and a sister, the National Capital Regional Police chief, Vidal Querol, said.

Aguirre and his sister jumped out of the car and helped their mother out. They were taken by bystanders to a hospital where they are being treated for burns and bruises, radio reports said.

Blast shrapnel also slightly injured the driver of another car, the police said.

Querol said the attack may have been set off by business rivalry.

An explosion also heavily damaged last year the luxury vehicle of Aguirre’s father, who heads a family business dealing with the distribution of oil products, he said.

Aguirre’s father was injured in last year’s attack.[/SIZE]

the mother got 3rd degree burns on her arms, 2nd degree burns on her body, 1st degree burns on her face. nasa plastic surgery na sya kanina, as told by my mom.

the girl got 1st degree burns on her face and body.

the guy got only first degree burns from saving his family members from the fire

please pray for their fast recovery. don't bother about follow up news or arrests, i think there won't be any.

PS: the father died last year due to the explosion of his pajero. (correction dun sa article na pinost ni cargirl)
