    A TRAFFIC policeman died when his motorcycle was hit by a passenger jeep while he was going after a van without license plates along Marcos Highway in Pasig City Wednesday.

    Philippine National Police chief Director General Arturo C. Lomibao said he has given SPO3 Rodolfo R. Duanan a posthumous promotion. Lomibao visited Duanan's wake at the Camp Crame mortuary and offered his condolences to the officer's grieving widow Nena.

    He also instructed Traffic Management Group director Chief Supt. Ricardo C. Quinto to arrange the giving of college scholarship grants to Duanan's two children.

    "SPO3 Duanan was trying to enforce the no plate, no travel policy when he was killed. It was very, very unfortunate," Lomibao said.

    Chief Supt. Lorenzo J. Holanday Jr., chief of the National Capital Region Traffic Management Office, said a Cubao-bound van without license plates ignored a TMG checkpoint on Marcos Highway at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, prompting Duanan to chase the driver.

    However, he was struck by a passenger jeep driven by Benedictadeo B. dela Cruz, of Binangonan, Rizal.

    The policeman died from broken bones and head injuries at the Amang Rodriguez General Hospital.

    Police arrested Dela Cruz and impounded his jeep. He will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.

    ANG MASAMA pa niyan ang ugat ng naging kamatayan ay nakatakas .....

    nadamay din tuloy iyon jeepney driver ...

    kung huminto na lang sana ang driver ng van

    or never na nag viahe ang van kasi alam naman cguro niya na wala sia plate ..

    tsk tsk dami talaga pasaway sa kalye

    kawawa naman, nagtratrabaho lang... naka helmet kaya?
    malamang hindi ...baka nakalimutan ..kasi may head injuries.

    i feel more sorry for the jeepney driver. how can he be charged with reckless imprudence resulting to homicide? what if he's innocent and yung TMG ang bumangga dun sa jeep? dapat dito thorough investigation.

    dito mahina ang law natin eh..pag nakabangga ka ng stupid pedestrian who is jaywalking, kasalanan mo pa.

    kaya nga sinabing "charged" lang... hindi pa naman guilty / innocient.

    nasa right lane and direction naman ang jeepney driver

    at ang kusang bumangga sa kanya ay motor ng traffic enforcer

    at namatay on the spot ang motor rider...

    the i charge sa kanya ang naging kamatayan ng enforcer

    ano ang tsansa ng jeepney driver sa kaso ...

    kung may sirena yung pulis habang humahabol at nabangga ni jeepney driver, malamang kalaboso si jeepney driver.
