No matter how tempting, I try to avoid making generalizations whenever a car with a sticker from a reputable organization (e.g. CFC) cuts me off.

If you think about it, equal naman yung distribution ng mga gago sa kalye. Kaya lang, pag may CFC sticker yung nang-gago sa iyo, you tend to remember it more compared to the non-stickered car. You will remember the total number of CFC stickered car that cut you off while you tend to 'forget' the number of non-CFC stickered cars that did the same. :-)

    "Couples for Christ" sticker

My officemate just recalled to me her encounter this morning with this moron.

They were waiting for a cab somewhere in QC, when a Toyota Hi-Ace backed up and almost hit them. Her husband tapped the back of the vehicle to warn the driver.

But instead of apologizing, the owner of the car (he was sitting in the middle) opened the two side windows. He was already in the act of pulling out his gun when my officemate reasoned with him.

My officemate was really dismayed when they noticed a "Couples for Christ" sticker at the back of the vehicle. Sheesh. Ain't the world full of hypocrites?

mabuti at hindi mo dinibdiban sa likod bro?

Not that I want to enter into any religious debate or something but honestly, based on my personal experience (your own may differ), I find Christians who are deeply religious (eg. know the Bible and its meaning by heart, conducting small scale evangelism, teaching about the Bible, etc). are more prone to very UnChristian acts or behavior when compared to the occasionally practicing or non practicing Christians. I also find these deeply religious Christians to be very condescending esp. in the manner in which they utilize their extensive knowledge of the Holy Bible. They act like the stereotypical Pharisees in the Bible esp. like the one in the "Tale of the Good Samaritan".

    amen!

i totally agree with yebo and number001. parang they were already assured of heaven when they joined the groups, so what more can they lose?

and regarding the stickers at the back, sometimes nabenta lang ng isang member yung car to a non-member, hindi rin natin masabi.

hehe nakakatawa pa, they identify themselves with the israelites e ni hindi nga sila taga-israel. kung hindi naligaw si magellan dito sa pinas most likely allah sinasamba ng mga pinoys today.

    Very well put.

My wife and her parents are just about the only Catholics in their predominantly born-again clan. Naiinis siya kasi sa religion ng mga uncles niya, andaming bawal, ultimo New Age books at Harry Potter, off-limits! Tapos tuwing may family reunion yung angkan, may dala-dala pang pastor, nagmumukhang worship service tuloy yung dapat ay private family affair.

We had a client who is a member of JIL, so we had to meet with their pastor as part of their wedding preparations. Mabait naman si reverend, quite affable. Sabi ni misis, "Kung ganyan lang sana yung mga pastor sa church ng mga uncles ko, baka makumbinsi pa akong maging born-again."

Well, indeed there are no perfect organizations.

However, offenses committed by members of those organizations that are supposed to espouse good deeds (e.g. CFC, YFC, etc) will be more noticable and will make more people angry....
