how do you define swerving?

a makati security guard turned enforcer flagged me down for alleged swerving.

i came from the 3rd lane and changed lanes to the 2nd lane in ayala ave approaching rufino st. i was preparing to make a right turn to paseo de roxas that is why i tranferred lanes. the paseo de roxas intersection is about 300m away that is why i transferred lanes.

i contested the apptehension and the enforcer made me sign a ticket that indicates disregard of traffic sign. when i indicated "under protest" the enforcer quickly changed the violation to swerving.

im contesting the violation and have a scheduled hearing 2 weeks from now.

Alam ko walang violation na swerving per se,, when you make a change in lane that is still swerving... By definition kase swerving is not being able to maintain a straight path.... We all know naman na we have to change lane every now and then, ang term ko diyan ay merging!
Kase when we change our lane to another lane even if it takes a motorist 2 lanes to do that,, if he or she is careful then its like merging traffic, pag meh enough space in between you and another vehicle you can change lane after you have signaled...
Grey area kasi yang swerving, kung sa tingin mo TS you did not cause any trafic obstruction nor did you put any car behind you at a disadvantage i think you have a basis for protest,,

thanks for the input. this is actually my definition that i used against the enforcer. di raw ganun kasi pang mmda lang yun. wala naman siya ibang ibigay na definition.

actually i was signaling my intentions to tranfsfer to the left lane. actually i drive there everyday to work. ngayon lang ako nadiskitahan

may nabasa ako dati doon sa along ortigas-meralco ave. going to edsa. 1 lane na lang (right side) if you are going straight to edsa and I think 3 lanes ung turning left to meralco ave. madami na rin nahuling swerving doon. swerving to the right lane kahit moving one lane to the right lang.

Swerving kasi is a movement..it can never be a violation on itself... Pardon me, pero marami na engot at uneducated trafic enforcers on the road who don't even know how to drive nor define traffic rules when asked..!!!. What constitute for a violation is changing your lane without signaling or doing it recklessly that you are endagering other motorist... Kaya ang pwede violation sa ticket is reckless driving..

Badtrip ako sa ganyan na mga enforcers na nag-dudunung dunungan! !
Minsan hindi mo din masisisi kung makasagutan mo o ma encounter mo ang ganyan enforcer... Kaya nga minsan nasasapak o sampal sila eh...

i think alam nya 154 kasi yun una nya sinabi na disregarding traffic signs. nung sinulat ko lang na magcontest ako saka naman sinulat ang swerving. that was after ko magsulat ng under protest.
