scary facts indeed... gez at some point here may advantage prin pla mga 'solex' type of door locks.. i had an experience.. parked my car outside my place along main rd.QC area.. no guards, jus by standers, 15mins tops, la na stereo ko(gud thing i hv that "payong" connected to the steering.. their entry? right side(passenger front side) their key? my gez is a flat head screw driver.. duno how they did it w/ d alarm coz it ddnt go off... wen i asked people around(vendors) they say, there were 2 of em.. (& yes goon-looking) got out of a car.. shouting blaming each other (its a drama type of scheme/scam) "KASALAN MO TO!!!!
ANG BOBO MO PARA MAKALIMUTAN YAN SA LOOB!!!!" som like that... then they left as if nothing happend..(thats after putting some "palito" into the key hole - thinking maybe i'd be interested in doing a wild goose chase w/ em)
well i still think its better than breaking ur window or asking you nicely("brod, ganda nyan ah...")...at a gun point.. hmmn. :freddy:
ah laser cut na pala ngayon. Kaya pala dun sa manual ng Hyundai nakalagay that duplicate keys wont work. Ma-try nga kung totoo. hehehe
Some models are equipped with immobilizer, meaning you can force open the door but the car will not start without the original ignition key.
maxima ko may solex na, may alarm pa.....di mahihila, di maiikot..kahit nga ako nabbwisit pag lock kong ganun..
Based from my personal experience...
we have two cars..honda city and honda vti.
one time we went to SM pampanga. medyo madami kami kaya nung time na uwian na. syempre hintayan sa labas.
Hirap buksan. Pero yung iba babasagin ang bintana.
OMG......
TIA
When I was working for a car rental agency, we lost a key with an electronic chip. The mechanic cut a spare key and tried it. It opened the door but would not start the car. He had to send the car to the dealer for the chip and programing of the spare.
They say, the thing about cars in Japan is that nobody really bothers to steal them, hence not much thought is placed on secure locks. The general thinking is, as long as it can be closed, that's fine. I've heard stories of Mitsubishis, the 89-92 Lancer especially, can be opened by a barbeque stick through the gap between the doors.
Of course, I have not tried it myself so I wouldn't really know for sure.
benz ko dati before i got the tumbler fixed, kahit anong susi bukas sya hehe.
Wildthing: True, our GTi galant before got locked sa garage with the key inside, dinutdot namin from the door handle and kachug, power lock opened all doors ulit.
Pero pag luma kotse kaya ko with 2 wire hangers hehe...
have any of you guys tried the credit card sized key duplicates? di ba bulky sa wallet at di ba masakit sa pwet ( habang nasa loob ng wallet at hindi sa pwet) pag matagal nakaupo?
