It's still horrible, especially heading toward edsa.
Potholes, and the ever-present standing water that comes with those are slowly eating the asphalt. Effectively there's only one lane, unless you're willing to stake your undercarriage on it.

THE president of the largest international retailer of Oakley is facing criminal charges after he was involved in a road accident wherein a man was killed and another was injured.

Makati Police chief Sr. Supt. Manuel Lukban Jr. identified the suspect as Rajiv Dargani, an Indian and president of Sunglass Hut, the retailer of world-renowned eyewear, Oakley.

Lukban ordered the filing of criminal charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and physical injury and abandonment against Dargani.

The case stemmed from the vehicular accident involving Dargani on April 20 at 3:05 a.m. along the East bound lane of McKinley Road, Barangay Forbes Park, Makati City.

The accident resulted in the death of motorcycle rider Henrix Bernardo, 31. His companion, Glenn Nacion Jr., 30, was hurt in the accident.

According to the police report, Dargani, who was driving an Audi Sports Car bearing plate number JVV-88, left the victims lying on the road pavement after the incident.

“This is a clear hit-and-run incident. That’s why we also charged him with abandonment,” Lukban said.

Prior to the filing of the charges, the Makati police chief said that Dargani’s camp tried to settle with the victims.
But Lukban said settlement is only applicable on civil liabilities.

For a road that passes through one of the, if not the, most exclusive and prosperous enclave in the Philippines, the traffic prone, pothole ridden, uneven and flooded (during typhoon season) road that is McKinley is a big disappointment.

A fitting microcosm of the Philippines

Makati CBD is another fine example of bad roads. Premier district eh? Ganyan sila sa Makati indeed!

Nice pa naman to drive under the trees. Few roads in Manila have such trees overhanging.

Yung kaso regarding the case of the cement mixer truck that killed the 20 year old student near Del Monte Avenue, nakawala na yung driver after the victim's family forgave him and the mixer truck's owner promised to answer all damages incurred...so what is the difference with this one???

The Makati Police earlier said it was informed that Dargani is now confined in an unnamed hospital as relayed by his emissary, whom Lukban did not identify. The emissary, said Lukban is known in the local Indian business community and was the one who took care of the funeral and hospital needs of Dargani’s two victims.

Lukban said police officers went to Dargani’s house but neither he nor his car was there. He said the relatives of Dargani’s victims told police that they are not pursuing the case and have executed an affidavit of desistance.

McKinley is decent compared to this dirt road. The right side is gravel and dust.
