Some people can so so irresponsible as long as they feel good, feel important, show that they can burn money. HID is a very good technology as long as it is used right.

Not that I advocate or promote dark tints either, but some people have dark tints for security reasons. Uso rin kasi sa atin ang kidnapping. In my tita's place sa sultan kudarat, kidnapping is quite common, kaya everyone puts really dark tints sa windshield para di makita from the outside kung yung target person for kidnapping is inside the car.

Sana nga HID should be banned. Some people may justify using HID but I personally dont see any justifiable reason for using HID lamps that blinds drivers of vehicles coming from opposite direction. What with traffic in metro manila or urban streets usually at close quarters most of the times and very very few city streets that are not well lighted. That is why I can only surmise that people using HIDs are just "kulang sa pansin" or simply want to be different at the expense of other people's safety.
But I believe HID will be very helpful in rural settings, especially in long lonely, poorly lighted, highways where vehicles are few and far between. Even in areas where fogs often dawns on streets and highways. Do we have fogs in Metro Manila? I wonder!
Proper use? What may be proper to some may appear improper to others. Forgetting to dim when necessary is often the excuse. But damage may be disastrous at the receiving end.
    Banned? absolutely in the metro.

Mind you this is a normal reaction. I myself finds this irresistible when an opposite vehicle uses high beam even in close quarter traffic. I cant help but turn or clicker my high beam too, no matter how faint it is.

But this, I mean no offense to XTO, more than supports my position for a total ban of HID's in the metro.
