OT ulit. agree ako. the problem here in the philippines is not the law, nor the law enforcement or the officers of the law, but the implementation of the law. bastusan talaga e.

It's like wearing a tinted ID. Shempre hindi nila naiisip yon kase bobo sila.

What a lame way of going around the UVVRP (whatever it's called). Kung walang pambili ng kotse na pang-coding, bakit kailangang ipagpilitan?

i have a neighbour who also has tinted plate covers. it used to be readable pero ngayon super dark na. its an 01 civic.

i plan to get those plate covers din e, yung light blue or green, pero visible pa rin yung plates ko.

Basagin mo yung plate covers nung kapitbahay mo. Tapos use the shattered glass to ruin his paint job. Even if it ain't new, it's still gonna hurt.

You should have your head examined. Any glass over any surface will cause glare. Clear glass has it, moreso with tinted ones, whatever the shade. I hope one day your loved one\s get run over by a vehicle with covered plates and no one could trace the vehicle because the plate number could not be deciphered.

This one goes out also to all you muderf&^%rs who think that hiding your plate makes you macho. Probably your parents didn't give you enough attention that's why you've become such KSPs. :jump2:

I've had a real experience with these creeps. I was witness to an incident in Bulacan last month. I was then standing outside a roadside store when a speeding L300 sideswiped a hapless lady and a kid and never even bothered to slow down. The driver knew he hit them cause he even looked over his shoulder. After that he even speeded up! I was shocked cause the lady and the kid was thrown towards me, although I still had the presence of mind to get the plate # of the van. To my dismay, the rear plate # was covered with bluish glass! It could not be read.

Sad to say, none of the witnesses saw the plate # of the van. No one saw it because of the plate # cover. Now, imagine if that happened to your sister/lola/mother/girlfriend/wife/daughter... Would you still be patronizing this fad?

I'm not for road rage against people who deliberately cover their plate #s because I believe it is not the way to right another wrong. But we have to consider the responsibilities of our actions. That would have to come from ourselves. And NOT buying these items would ensure that you do your share in being responsible, respectable, and educated citizens.

If you ever saw a live mangled body thrown in front of you by a speeding vehicle with its plate # covered (thus eluding identification), you would probably feel the same way I do...

are you mental? don't make such hasty generalizations! not all users of tinted/clear plate covers have them to hide their plates. you should be careful of your posts because not everyone will agree with your sentiments.

you better watch what you say.

So sorry if I had some harsh words, I guess the flashback of that fateful incident (see my post above) got me all riled up. I know we have different reasons for doing such things, but we just have to be aware of our responsibilities as motorists. We can't just invoke that it's for vanity or protection. We also have to consider if we're breaking any law.
My apologies to all affected by my outburst...

ang nakakalungkot (nakakainis?) kasi is that there are quite a number of people who are doing their best to abide by the law, tapos merong mga epal na tao na ganito kang makakasalamuha. it's depressing really, sasabihin mo tuloy sa sarili mo "bakit sila?"

Probably leaving a note saying "What you're doing is illegal, you idiot." plus a printout of the violation code (whatever it's called) could do something. Hmm, I'll start this. I'll prepare a huge stack of notes and printouts in my trunk.

You can probably make a business out of this. :D
Ibenta mo sa MMDA. The MMDA boys can then stick these to cars that they flag down.
