I did. Last February (bday month ko pa man din!)

I was waiting for my gf to get some laundry along Dos Castillas st. near UST. Nasa loob ako ng auto with my parking lights on and the passenger door left unlocked

Biglang I hear in the distance the sound of wang wangs going towards me..so my attention was quickly focused on that. Then after 2 secodns of listening to teh wangwangs, this guy in a black jacket, a cap, opens my passenger door and goes iniside while shouting "mag drive ka!". It took me around 4 seconds to notice he was holding a gun. He point it at me when all I do is stare instead of follow his orders. At that point, I say "saan?". He tells me to go on reverse. Of course, going on reverse leads me to Dapitan street..eh traffic dun diba. So I stop. When I stop, he again shouts "MAG DRIVE KA!" while pointing the gun at me and shaking it. At this point I was beginning to get scared because he was obviously in panic mode and any wrong move can prompt him to pull the trigger. So, stuck in traffic, I say "Sa iyo na lang ito, alis na lang ako". He thinks about it then nods and waves his gun at me as if to say "sige alis ka na". So I leave the car, run to my gf and call 117.

Calling 117, I tell the cop every detail about the car and where it happened. Turns out the robber was part of a larger group of robbers who were attacked by policemen as they tried to rob a car worthy of robbing (i drive a 6 year old corolla hehe) along Lacson st. The band of misfits split up, and I was unfortunate enough to be parked along the escape route of one of them.

Anyway, I go home via cab that night hehe.

The next day, my gf calls telling us that a cop called her..he found her laptop's ID card on the backseat of my car which was abandoned along Rizal Ave. Buti na lang kilala ng dad ko yung chief of police in that area. They returned the car AND my GFs laptop with no hassle. The only things missing were my airsoft Glock 19, and my favorite pair of shades which the cops probably took.

According to witnesses, the robber parked my car in Rizal Ave., then left it while running towards Sta. Cruz. The bastard. At least he didnt take the laptop.

Dami rin kwento ang mga pulis about their experiences with holdappers...some are shocking hehe.

Lesson learned na lang ako, I minimize parking and waiting inside, and I always make sure locked ang doors and naka off ang parking lights if I do wait inside.

He probably doesn't know what a laptop is. hehhehee

Dami na talaga criminals ngayon. Mahina kasi yung law and punishment.

Good thing you got out of it alive. Material things are and should always be treated as expendible. It's just money which is easy to earn.

Life is more important than anything.

I think you did the right thing. U got yourself out of the situation.. and you gave him what he needed. I keep a police bat between my seat n my door, and a knife under my seat just in case. I always think of what i'd do if i got carjacked, good thing ur situation was handled correctly and you got your car back.

My younger brother was coming home from UST a few weeks back, and he said he saw cops beating up a holdupper/carjacker, one cop was holding the guy, n the other 2 were beating him up. I also agree, the punishment for those kinds of crimes should be much more harsh. I saw on ABS-CBN a snatcher was caught n put into jail, and it was his 3rd time. I say put the death penalty back on, and PGMA should show some deterrent force instead of trying to ride coat tails by siding with the majority.

well, after I got carjacked, siempre report ko sa WPD. Anyway, I "think" that the guy I was talking to "said something like" a few of the repeat offenders they caught, especially the ones that rob kids of cellphones and shoot them in the process, were summarily executed inside the station "yata"..I think that's what I heard. Maybe I was drunk that time hehe. IF it is true, I think ok lang. So many kids have already been shot in the UST and UP Manila area...and for a damn cell phone.

Some uniformed cops also showed me mug shots of carnappers that they caught in Mandaluyong. The guys were black and blue and bleeding from the beating they got upon being captured. Buti nga sa kanila. Their 2 companions were killed during the process..biro niyo ang tatapang nila, nakipag shoot out sa SWAT! Thos SWAT boys are armed with M4s, MP5s, and a lotta ammo.

Wow really? KC my younger bro wants to dorm around the UST area, I think on Dapitan. He'll be dorming with classmates. Is it really that bad? The dorm he's thinking about has a guard at the bottom, and the other dorm he's thinking about has a manager counter that you have to walk by to enter the building.

Anyway, mga 5 years ago ito nangyari...the guard and a couple of students were shooting the breeze sa may foot ng stairs which is also right in front of the door. As they go on with their kwentuhan, someone from outside peeks inside and points a gun at them demanding their cellphones. They comply and the mugger leaves with no problems. The guard did not give chase anymore.

They were walking along Dapitan st. 3 sila walking side by side. He silently gave his stuff while his two friends thought na kaibigan niya yung tumabi sa kanila.

Dami pa ako kwento. Just last February, may isang college student binaril sa may Dapitan area when he refused to give his cellphone. He was rushed to the ER, friend ng GF ko yung nag asikaso...pero wala na daw pag asa. The damage was too bad and the kid died in the ER.

Ang di ko lang magets, why doesn't mayor Atienza increase the POLICE PRESENCE in that area? Halos WALA kasi. The only "cops" I see there are traffic cops preying on private vehicles...walang baril mga yan.

OT: Incidents usually happen while the students are in transit from school to home or vice versa. Siguro konting ingat na lang. I've been in UST for 8 years and counting.
