Selling Brand New Montero 400t cheaper than dealer......

i will be getting a 2011 GLS V this Monday and finally giving up my 2010 Fortuner. when i was shopping for a unit, there is a seller in sulit selling brand new 2012 GLS VGT with insurance for 1050000 only and paid in cash. the catch is that you get the OR and CR only after two months from a sub dealer. a famous PBA player almost bought one but he was also alarmed. as in nasa loob na sila ng bangko at nagbabayaran na. he just let go of his 5k deposit and cancelled the transaction. i asked people in the car trading business and they said its most likely what they call the "talon" scheme. meaning this pseudo sub dealers buy from Mitsu dealers with minimal downpayment and look for quick buyers. they then disappear and it is now your problem to face the bank as they did not pay the balance. very smart, right?

just be careful everyone.


i posted this in the Mitsu thread just to call the attention of more people. According to the agent, the sub dealers place is along Mindanao Avenue and this is where the turnover happens.

Mga sirs tanong lang there's a rumor here in our place that one businessman bought a 2012 fort 3.0V for 900k but or/cr will be given after 6mo. The fort already has a plate number(is it possible to have a plate no. without or/cr?) pero nagtaka ako after ilang days it was covered by a very dark plate cover i mean makikita mo lang if your like a meter away from the fort's front. Pero that's just a rumor, mayaman naman talaga ang bumili nun pero malay din natin gusto makatipid by almost 50%. Lets say the rumor is true, If the authority finds out the car is what the TS is also describing what would happen to the owner and the fortuner?

To Mr. jrln thank you for posting my full name here... Now ko lang nakita itong post mo... I remember last 2012 or 2013 ba un, dalawa lang kinausap ko noon about sa Brand New Montero (Black color)... Mr. Billy (PBA Player) and Mr. Mike (Contructor) at kung sinasabi mong nakikipag sked ako sau at hindi nagtatagpo ang sked natin dalawa sana pinost mo din ung mga conversation natin kung sino ka man... Nag inquire ka syempre as loyal dealer sa mga client ko lagi ako nag o-offer ng best offer, even na may hawak akong unit hindi ko sinasabi sa kanila na bilhin nila agad un... Kilala ako ng mga naging client ko, besides every time na nakikipag meet up ako sa lahat ng client ko sinasabi ko wala magdadala ng pera at lahat ng transaction is dapat sa banko... Then sinabi ko noon na ung owner mismo na contact ko sa bahay natin sila pupuntahan.... How come sasabihin mo agad dito na scam ako...? Bakit na scam ba kita...? at may napatunayan ka bang na scam ko na client...? At sana sumama ka or sana nagsampa ka ng kaso sakin or sa pulis station.... At kung scam ako bakit ko gagamitin ang full name ko at bakit kahit sa Facebook madali ako ma-search.... Sana tinago ko ung real name ko at bakit hanggang ngayon itong number parin ang ginagamit ko 09053639846.....? Sana mabasa mo ito at maging sampal sau ito.... FYI ako never nanloko sa lahat ng client ko at nakilala nila ako paano ako makipag deal kaya nga may mga referral ako nakukuha sa kanila hindi lang dahil mura ako makipag deal ng sasakyan, dahil alam din nila kung paano ko sila ingatan sa transaction at paano ko ingatan ang sarili ko sa lahat ng nakaka meet kong bagong client... This modus has been around for quite a while. I know of one large dealer who got hit by someone who did this (covering several SUVs and mini SUVs). They shelled out quite a sum to get all the units back from the suspects and the unsuspecting buyers (and this involved getting the help of the authorities).

The funny thing is the bank involved (unfortunately i don't know who) even issued a guarantee for all those vehicles and then cancelled those guarantees right after the cars were released. Chances they discovered it was a syndicate and cut it all immediately. The dealer was left to dry so they had to act fast just to track and get all the vehicles back. They were lucky as they got all the cars back and most had only a few hundred kilometers on them. However the end buyers they got the cars from were not so lucky as they incurred losses and had their cars confiscated. Their only resort is to go after the perpetrators to the crime. The dealer took the financial hit and resold the recovered cars as second hand to recover costs. The units were garaged for several months to undergo some court proceedings and when they were clean already, these were resold by the dealer at a discount (300-400K less than brand new).

Caveat emptor indeed!
