Report: A group of gun-toting men fences in an SUV on EDSA today | TopGear.com.ph
This afternoon, a female motorist tweeted the above photo with the following caption: "People with guns on EDSA." The person has since taken down the post, and it appears she has also deactivated her Twitter account (at least for now).
The photo shows a group of gun-toting men alighting from what appear to be three vehicles and surrounding a lone SUV. They were all pointing their guns at the SUV.
Nobody seems to know what exactly happened. Was it a case of road rage? If so, how come three vehicles--all with armed men as passengers--were involved in chasing one SUV? Was this a planned entrapment? Were the men law-enforcement officers? Or were they criminals carrying out a, well, crime?
The Philippine Daily Inquirer reports:
A Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Metrobase officer, who requested anonymity, told Inquirer.net over the phone that reports reached their office that a closed van collided with a Hi-Ace van between EDSA-Ortigas and Santolan. The officer said local MMDA traffic enforcers helped in assisting the apparent road rage incident.
These are indeed dangerous times we live in. Be very careful out there. You never know who might cut you in the middle of the road.
