(this is slightly off-topic) this is a forum where we can exercise the freedom to express ourselves, to express our own opinion. freedom, according to Mabini, is the power to do right and never wrong. that power cannot be used to malign people or to get personal with them. a debate on matters of public concern is healthy so long as we shy away from hitting people who disagree with our views. hit the view, not the person. the most potent way to defeat an opinion is to render a well-thought of, well-considered opinion free from hostility and hate, taking into account the truism that your opinion is as good as mine. we must understand that though we are hiding relatively under the cloak of anonymity here we are not at all free to heap abuse against some people. decency dictates that we regulate our conduct like any good-natured citizen of this country. otherwise, we are no different from the person we vilify or crucify.
