Post PM blues at Honda Alabang

Called up wednesday to set up a thursday pm appointment for my company issued crv. The scheduling was handled well and I arrived this morning to have the vehicle undergo the 20,000km pm check-up. At the reception area before going to the counter to have my vehicle registered I placed my e-pass and swiss army knife at the tray under the passenger seat assuming that these items will be safe as this tray was hidden. The car was serviced and was finished as scheduled. After paying the bill I went to the claim area and inspected my vehicle. Knowing that I left the above items in the tray I first opened the tray to retrieve the e-pass and swiss knife. I was surprised when I opened the tray only my e-pass was there and my swiss knife missing . I immediately informed the service advisor of the missing item and he immediately inquired with the wash crew if they saw a swiss knife when they cleaned the vehicle for release. As in most cases no one from the wash crew admitted seeing the item. The service advisor just assured me that he will follow up on the lost item. Lesson to be learned here: even if the item is securely kept in the vehicle, have it accounted for in the checklist. You cannot really trust the wash crew of the casa :down: . It was also an expensive nasty lesson. That Swiss Knife now costs 4200 Php

I always give an 'empty' vehicle to the dealer for servicing when I used to deal with them. Pati radio faceplate inaalis ko because some technicians sleep in the customer cars during their break and nakikinig ng 101.1 YES FM ng full blast while at work.

I have a box at home for all the items I take out of the vehicle. It is also a nice time to throw away junk and stuff that have accumulated in the vehicle through daily usage.

when our cars undergo PMS sa casa, we remove all our stuff, including the tools. Iniiwan lang namin yung spare tire and manual to avoid temptations.

Like most of the replies, I remove anything that could be of significant value before I bring in a vehicle for servicing. Sometimes I leave a little small change just to test the honesty of the service crew.

same here, most times punta ako casa may back up car ako kasi dami ko abubot :-) and yes, take out all stuff na tempting spare tire lang iwan, tools i make sure i take them out.

Dudes, yup always have your stuff removed prior to servicing and always keep a box handy to put your stuff in like OTEP did. One experience I had at the casa is that they sometimes dont replace the oil filter with a new one. I discovered this before checking my car out and they were dumbfounded. Pahiya sila. Cool.

TIP: Leave a marking on your old oil filter like a small scratch or something just to identify the old one. But not so conspiciously and check it again after servicing.

i know where you're coming from. ako dati everytime i have my car serviced at honda alabang, kadalasan nababawasan ang CD's sa changer. or dati naman nawala ang ash tray sa likod (mahabang kwento - pero ang ending, lumabas lang ang ash tray ko nang sa general manager na ako nag-complain). its true na dapat talaga tanggalin mo mga gamit mo sa kotse before having it serviced pero on the part of honda, they should be able to police their people. "the prestigious" pa man din ang slogan nila. as a customer of a supposedly premium brand (at least, that's what they are positioning their company di ba?), i should be able to bring my car in to the casa (which i pay a premium amount for), and not worry about theft.

Dami akong personal experience dyan sa Honda Alabang during sales and lalo na yung after sales service. Grabe. Ironically we have 4 Honda's bought from them......Weird?!! Well it must be the car never mind the sales agent and service coz Honda cars sell on its own.

My experience with Honda dealer in the province (you will know what dealer from my location in the Right Upper most corner):

I asked my sister to bring my trusty Civic for periodic maintenance with specific instruction to empty the vehicle (if possible). When she claimed the car in the afternoon, she noticed that the handle for the driver's chair adjustment was missing. She was very sure that it was there before she turned it over to the casa cuz she adjusted the angle of the seat before driving. She called the attention of the service advisor and they will conduct an investigation daw. Almost 1 year na, wala paring resulta.

So it is not enough to remove your valuables. Also take note of the knobs and handles. Good thing I was able to buy the missing handle from a friendly surplus dealer.

hmmmm... mukhang pangit magpa service jan sa Honda Alabang.

in my experience... buti na lang medyo ok yung mga service centers ng Signet Balintawak, Ford Balintawak & Toyota Shaw-Ortigas.

ni isang kusing walang nawawala. hehe.

Honda Kalookan is generally okay with me.
Ang reklamo ko lang sa kanila is.... they ALWAYS wash my car even if I request otherwise.

Clarification lang, when I mentioned casa this does not pertain to Honda Alabang. In fairness to Honda Alabang.

This just serves a general warning to all Tsikoteers kung mag papa service sa casa.

Bad experiences with Honda Alabang is there but not that major, only word wars against the less intellect and was eventually rectified after learning their mistakes.

Sa Mantrade Pasong Tamo ok din ako dun so far, sinasadya ko magiwan ng 60 bucks (puros 20s) sa may handbrake area and wala nawawala... Pero dati sa Diamond Motors nawala yung 2 pack of cig ng erpat ko na Davidoff.
