I work in Makati and have recently noticed that colorum FX (I assume they are colorum) drivers have bonded together and established a sophisticated warning system for reporting the presence of MAPSA cops (I think they're MAPSA - the ones wearing white and black and ride those bikes around town). Apparently, persons with two-way radios are scattered all around the CBD and report on the location of these roving MAPSA cops. Took a close look at their radios and they seem to be the kind that need licenses to operate, i.e. not the kind one buys for use in the mall to keep in touch with kids/yayas.

I don't really know if I should praise them or not. It just amazes me that people would go to such lengths just to avoid being caught doing an illegal act.

One time, we already entered Buendia from EDSA when the driver told us that he's not going to pass by Pacific Star Bldg., corner of Buendia and Makati Av, as there were traffic enforcers in the area apprehending colorums.

I was at the back sleeping, so I didn't see how the information was passed on to him.

I guess those guys are earning Php3,000 - Php5,000 per day. An 18 seater van and a Php50.00 to Php80.00 fare per person. 4-6 trips per day. Do the math. :D

May mga traffic situationer pa nga sila, and minsan pag may emergency naitatawag kaagad nila na they need help. Pero I don't know dun sa mga colorums, surely iba ang purpose nun.

They resorted to such methods because buying those expensive equipment is way cheaper than giving monthly bribes.

Im in favor with those fx drivers.

These colorumns are just victims of the government. Bakit ba hindi i-open ng LTFRB ang franchise for these illegals to operate legally.
