    Is it just me?

But I just think it is too big... and too many. I came across one with, like, every two feet.

and to think, a lot of cars are swerving around that area at great speeds. I dont think that's a good idea. it's gonna break a lot of suspension components and bushings.

I completely agree with you, though my estimate is that the distance between each cat's eye is every 12 inches...such stupidity that equals no other ...and yes, it is going to be stressful to our suspensions, not to mention our tires ...either sobra sa pera yung mga ogag na taga dpos ng qc city hall o kaya tamad lang sila maglagay sa ibang lugar...only in da philippines...o baka naman binago na nila yung international standards

if those would lessen undisciplined swervings and unecessary speeding - in other words, make the area less chaotic, then i say that they are not stupid.

not sure if QC project yan or MMDA. Im seeing those cat's eyes the whole stretch of EDSA. and i agree sobra OA.

Malamang yan, it's one of those last minute project ng previous admin and merong kumita ng malaki dyan.

well... just practice defensive driving all the time. as long as we have undisciplined motorists (public and private) on the roads, (with your logic above) almost nothing will be applicable. the cat's eye were placed to (hopefully) put some semblance of discipline for every driver whether private or public. thus, if the taxis continue to be reckless even with the implements, the best safety strategy is to be defensive rather than swerve with them to avoid them.

just my opinion. no intention to argue.

Actually, may silbi ang rumble strips. It is there for a purpose. And the main reason why they're there is to rudely wake up sleepy (or sleeping) drivers. Precaution kumbaga.

I'd rather have them there than have a sleepy driver plow the rear end of your vehicle at 80 kmh.

Re: the cat's eye, well, masyado ngang malaki, so iniiwasan ko na lang.

walang changing lanes na mangyayari kung lahat ng exit and entry point ay parehas ang numbers ng lanes ng mismong rotonda...lahat yata ng exit and entry 2 lanes lang so may bottle neck around the QC Circle

imagine doblehin mo yung lapad ng roundabout..tapos retain mo pa din yung size ng exit and entry point...6 lanes roundabout to 2 lanes exit and entry

the illustration would work here in the philippines..we drive on the right side of the road eh. heheheh....

and just to add. filipino drivers dont know the rules of the road when it comes to round abouts.. the person inside the round about should have the right of way.. not the other way around.. pinoy pa..

"Cat's Eye" i think is the original term for this american invention.

Niways, stupid nga yan esp. in well lighted or lit road sections. Lubak, tugudugudug, palagi.

Placement side, if the cats eyes are making you think twice about sweving, then I say its doing its job.

Personally I don't agree with having cats eyes in what is otherwise an already well-lit area, but IMO the problem here is really the lack of discipline and general driving knowledge of majority of our local drivers.

Swerving is indeed not a good idea.... in EDSA.

But... in the eliptical road, that's a different story. Say, if you are to exit to North Ave and you are coming out from Kalayaan Ave. You need to swerve out right in as much as possible for you to not be 'cornered' by vehicles fast approaching and is going to exit to Commonwealth Ave... If you stayed a lane or two from the right most after merging in the eliptical road and you are going to North Ave... maiipit ka ng mga kotse na papasok sa Commonwealth at Visayas Ave. Mahirap.

For Short, isa nanaman itong Pocket Allowance.

Maybe Mr. Inocentes must replace with better one. Road Experts or Engineer ang nilalagay.

At least ngayon, it's either titiisin nila yung araw araw na damage/magugulat sila.

Dont you think the newly planted cat's eye along eliptical road is stupid?
