^kaya nga i'll recommend to switch airline sa next trip ko.

Virtually empty ang check in counter ng pal at the time of my check-in.

My friend is at the airport now and posted a picture of the check in counter at PAL and was done by 15 mins. On the other side, it was hysteria

I can use to pay for a night's hotel stay plus food.

Haha same here.

Seriously i weigh it naman kung worth it ba yung price difference. Kung almost the same syempre fly pal na.

Kung official travel sa office as much as possible pal ako, pero kung conflict yung flight sched sa schedule ko syempre no choice na din.

Never pa din naman ako na hassle ng cebupac, pal and cebu pac normal na yang delayed flights.

Eto officemate ko one time official travel din. Cebu - manila via pal. His flight got delayed ng 3 hrs. Finally he boarded, yung cebu - manila niya naging cebu - HK - manila.

    Wow panalo kako! Hassle hahaha

    Same sentiments here.

I'm not a regular air traveler and definitely i avoid the peak travel periods if i set our trips.

Also, how many people here experienced life when PAL was a monopoly and waiting 4-5 hours on a delayed domestic flight in a hot, cramped domestic airport? That was the norm back in the 80s to the early/mid 90s so we still have it better now if you ask me.

Na alala ko yan. Grabe noong araw.

If you ask me, by leaps and bounds mas okay ngayon.

Cebu Pacific is a cheap airline, so expect cost cuts to the max. In the event that I have no choice but to fly with them, I say to myself (and to the wife) ...... DO NOT EXPECT ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE. CP outsources almost all of its ground staff, from counter people to aircraft movement people, so don't expect empathy because its non existent.

We had one experience wherein the plane was already parked but for some reason the passengers cannot disembark because the ramp (re: hagdan ng eroplano) was still being used by another CP flight. I mean WTF????? .... They're so cheap, they can't buy additional "hagdan ng eroplano"???????

Does the added cost on flying PAL justify the stress and anxiety one gets in flying Cebu Pacific?

    Yes it does.

This is so true. Happened to me as well sa NAIA 3 pa. As the plane taxi into the tube to a full stop, crew don't want to open the front door that will connect sa front door. Sa likod pinababa ang mga pasahero using the mobile stairs. May extra bayad daw yung tube.

Warm lang naman ang temperature daw in mid day with no aircon...

CEB Advisory - One passenger aboard Cebu Pacific flight 5J575 fainted while the aircraft was waiting for clearance to take-off yesterday (Friday, June 16, 2017) at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. The flight was bound for Cebu. Said passenger was given emergency medical assistance onboard while an ambulance was called.

Following reports from our crew that the cabin temperature was warm, Cebu Pacific offered passengers water and immediately arranged for a change in aircraft for the comfort of our passengers.

Our cabin crew and ground personnel assisted all passengers and handled the transfer to the replacement aircraft. The flight departed Manila at about 732pm, and landed safely in Cebu at 852pm.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience these incidents may have caused and appeal for understanding.

    DOTr ADVISORY:

This pertains to a video posted on Facebook showing an incident last night when passengers of Cebu Pacific Flight 5J 575 bound for Cebu in panic, while forcing airline personnel to let them deplane from the aircraft.

Please be informed that the Department of Transportation (DOTr), through its Undersecretary for Aviation Capt. Manuel Antonio Tamayo, has already instructed the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) to look into this and act accordingly.

In a statement, Atty. Wyrlou Samodio, Chief Legal Officer of CAB, has directed Cebu Pacific to investigate the matter thoroughly and submit an incident report within one (1) hour from notice.

Should DOTr-CAB find out that Cebu Pacific Flight 5J 575 went beyond the prescribed 2-hour period to deplane its passengers due to long tarmac delays, Cebu Pacific shall be held liable for the penalty prescribed under the regulation. Further, if found to have violated the regulation, the pilot shall likewise be held liable as he has the obligation to order the deplaning. CAB shall indorse the case of the pilot to CAAP for appropriate action, since the latter exercises jurisdiction over airmen.

Rest assured that DOTr-CAB will objectively monitor this incident and shall update the public of any development.

    Thank you.

Yan po ang common notion. Pero if you will check po, kung hindi ka naka piso fare at you will be getting the regular fare ng CebuPac, halos same price lang. Sometimes more expensive pa. Props to their marketing and PR to instill to the minds of the Filipinos that they are the cheap-fare airline.

I always check the prices of both PAL and CEB and as long as malayo pa sa travel date, usually mas mura CEB.

But whenever magkalapit na presyo (sometimes nga mas mahal pa CEB), I opt for PAL.

Yup kaya yung long planned travels makakamura ka sa 5J pero kung malapitan na might as well canvass muna with PAL and compare.

That's how you earn actually. Piso fares fill the flights (maximize asset capacity) and they get the income from the latter, full fare bookings.

There was one time na-cancel flight namin with Tiger Air (not yet acquired by cebupac during that time) and we were in the airport already (Clark), and may mga kasabay na iba pang flights to the same destination (HK), ang fare ng cebupac was 15K per pax, while that of AirAsia was only 3K+. 5min lang ang difference sa departure time.

Allowed ang airline to overbook diba. One time may flight ako to davao naman vial PAL may anouncement na kung sino gusto magpa bump off sa flight to a later flight kapalit ng free one way ticket. Still no one grabbed it.

Many were left stranded for 2 days from May 4-5 at Narita and Kansai by Lance Airline.with no firm explanation. iBang airlines kapalpakan would already call for a senate investigation. Fortunately for Lance, he is a BBM crony....

Dear Cebu Pacific Air, after a sleepless night at the airport, all of us were looking forward to the new flight offered at 4pm.

I enjoyed myself at the hot springs and even got to witness a wrestling match outside the venue so it helped kill the time.

So patiently everyone queued up at around 12pm with a renewed spirit despite being very tired. This is until another round of meal vouchers began being given at the counter.

The 4pm flight is again moved to 905pm and people are tired. Meal vouchers are thankfully sufficient for the meals but we feel like nobody is proactively trying to help. By 905pm we would have been already more than a day late, approximately 24.5 hours.

I asked the counter staff to provide a certificate for the cause of the delay for purposes of claims, and the staff said they don't provide. And that I should directly contact you. Imagine I book a hotel and I don't eventually get a certificate and forfeit any claims.

No one is able to decide or confirm anything and so in less than 3 hours people will start queueing again for the said 905pm flight. Honestly we aren't sure if that's confirmed. Could it be another sleepless overnight stay in Kansai airport tonight?

Co passengers are saying that according to the CAB guidelines, hotel accommodation should be provided in these cases. I went to your website and read that your mission is to be able to take care of your guests, and I sincerely hope you do your part.

    Respectfully yours,
    Stressed and Sleepless in Kansai

EDIT: some readers mentioned that certificates are issued after the flight is flown. But I didn't know this at the time of the delay and the Japanese staff just said we don't issue certificates (maybe communication barrier).
