Magkano lang ang sinasahod ng isang MMDA traffic enforcer para tumayo buong araw sa daan, tapos iyan pa ang mapapala niya. TE Fabros has been in the service for 30 years, probably far longer than Carabuena has been taking up space on this planet. Ang kicker diyan, si Carabuena pa ang may ganang i-demanda si Fabros over unspecified charges.
And personally, though I don't see the relevance in mentioning that Carabuena works for tobacco company Philip Morris Fortune Tobacco Corp., I won't object at all to a boycott of their products over this incident.

Carabuena's father: MMDA officer started trouble, hitting Blair's car repeatedly

The father of Robert Blair Carabuena, the Philip Morris officer captured on video assaulting an MMDA traffic enforcer, on Wednesday said the MMDA instigated the confrontation with his son when he repeatedly hit the side of his car as he tried to negotiate a busy QC intersection.
Speaking to producers of TV5's "T3", the elder Carabuena said his son blew his top when the traffic enforcer, Saturnino Fabros, rapped his car as it was trying to complete a left turn in the crowded intersection of Capitol Drive and Tandang Sora Ave.
But the driver of vehicle carrying the TV5 crew that captured Carabuena's confrontation with Fabros, in an interview with "T3", said Fabros was unconfrontational and seemed to conduct himself properly throughout the incident. He said he saw Fabros lightly knocking on Carabuena's car just once ("kinatok"), to call his attention as Carabuena seemed to ignore his signals to stop and stay clear of the intersection.
The video captured by TV5 shows Carabuena verbally abusing Fabros a few moments later, and slapping the traffic enforcer's head at least twice.
Carabuena has refused or ignored requests for interviews, but his father came out of their house to speak with reporters of "T3". He maintained that Fabros was the one who provoked his son to anger.

Philip Morris vows not to condone erring employee

MANILA, Philippines—Cigarette maker Philip Morris on Wednesday vowed not to condone “inappropriate conduct” by any of its employees after one of its executives was caught on camera slapping a traffic enforcer.
“We are aware of the incident involving our employee Robert Blair Carabuena,” Philip Morris said in a statement Wednesday.
It said that the incident took place last Saturday while Carabuena “was on his personal time and was not doing any work in behalf of the company.”
Carabuena, a human resource manager of the Philip Morris, and his brother Robert Benjamin were filmed Saturday while in the act of berating and attacking an enforcer of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.
The 27-second video of Carabuena bullying traffic constable Saturnino Fabros, which was taken by a producer of TV5, had spread like wildfire in the Internet and drawn the attention of the MMDA officials and even the Malacañan Palace.
“While the complete facts surrounding the incident are not yet clear to make a full appreciation of the situation, the company would obviously not condone inappropriate conduct by any of our employees,” said Philip Morris.
“We understand the matter is being investigated by the authorities and we will monitor developments closely,” it said.
Fabros, a traffic enforcer of the MMDA for 27 years, went to the MMDA headquarters on Wednesday to execute his affidavit for the direct assault charges to be filed at the Quezon City prosecutor’s office against Carabuena and his brother.
Apart from slapping the motorist with a criminal complaint, MMDA Chair Francis Tolentino had also asked the Land Transportation Office to cancel Carabuena’s driver’s license saying an “abusive and arrogant motorists like him… have no right to be in the road in the first place.”
