Ako wala pa pero yung kapitbahay ko ninakaw yung honda civic nya and guest what may car alrm yun.

Yun ba yung Anti-theft system? Saan ba pwede magpakabit nun? Para sa akin mas effective yun kesa sa Car alarm. May alam pa ba kayong Anti-theft system?

QC cops distribute VCDs to fight carjacking
    Tuesday, May 29, 2007

The Quezon City Police District(QCPD) has found a novel way of fighting carjacking syndicates—by producing and distributing video compact discs (VCDs) that inform the public of ways to guard against carjackers’ various modus operandi.

QCPD chief Senior Superintendent Magtanggol Gatdula said the VCDs will be distributed and publicly shown in order to help car owners become “alert partners” against car theft.

The idea is one of the measures undertaken by the QCPD to help the city shake off the tag as the country’s carjacking capital, with one carjacking incident per day.

Inspector Angelo Nicolas, commander of the QCPD’s 20-man anti-car theft division, pointed to records showing that car theft incidences have been cut in half last year compared to the previous.

“In 2005, we had 355 reported cases of carnapping, but last year, 2006, when we intensified our campaign against it, it was down to only 175,” said Nicolas in a phone interview with The STAR.

He said his team intends to take measures to further reduce the reported car theft incidents this year.

“We want to inform the public that the fight against carnapping is not the sole responsibility of the police,” said Gatdula. “We need to get the people’s cooperation to be able to launch an effective anti-carnapping drive.”

He stressed that “crime prevention is a shared responsibility.”

Gatdula expressed hope that the VCD would be helpful to other cities that have problems with car theft.

For maximum impact, Gatdula said a 15-minute version of the VCD will be exhibited at various carjacking “hot spots” such as hospital and mall parking areas, and at barangay meetings in areas where carjacking is rampant.

There is also a plan to show air a 60-second version on government-owned television stations such as RPN 9, NBN 4, and IBC 13.

Gatdula said that with the support of the Quezon City council, he expects that the VCD’s content will be shown in the city’s movie houses.

He said carjacking is a difficult problem to address because it is a highly profitable business, with culprits exporting stolen vehicles or spare parts to satiate the high demand from Asian countries like China, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

Prior to the launch of the VCD, Gatdula attributed the decline in reported cases of car theft in the city due to increased day and night mobile police patrols in areas where most of the previous carjacking incidents have been reported.

He also gave credit to the QCPD’s “Oplan Sita,” which has policemen flag down and scrutinize vehicles driven without license plates.

some years ago, na carnap din owner type jeep ng uncle ko. he stays at marikina. his owner is not so "hot" naman para pag-interesan pa. after one week, nakita na yung owner sa sampaloc area near ust. sa gilid ng eskinita. tapos, wala ng gulong. in short.. chop-chop na. the jeep was only identfiied thru its engine type and chassis # at body. sama! pati ba naman owner napapagtripan. buhay nga naman......

    thank you mod.

Ay ito pala... way back in 1996 sa labas ng bahay namin may bisita ang kapitbahay namin and nakapark sa labas ng bahay yung toyota corrolla nila and yung Pajero namin. Kinabukasan nawala yung car. Buti na lang stereo lang ang kinuha sa pajero namin at hindi yung buong car.
