Carjackers strike, take Altis in QC

Armed men took a Toyota Altis sedan from a motorist who stopped by at a Quezon City gasoline station Monday, abs-cbnNEWS.com learned.

Police identified the victim as Mark Joseph de la Cruz.

Gasoline station supervisor Joseph Yamot told police that two men with guns approached de la Cruz as he checked the car's tires for air pressure at the Shell branch in Congressional Avenue past 7 a.m

The altis would be used to probably steal another vehicle... something more expensive and easy to dispose...

Sampal sa mukha talaga 'to para kay Angcangan at TMG. I foresee another rubout...immediately followed by a presscon announcing that the anti-carjacking drive is succeeding.

Probably one reason why he was victimized was because of habit. Apparently, the victim was a regular customer at that particular Shell station, so when the carjackers were able to establish his routine, it was easy for them to take the car.

I always enlist the help of gas station attendants pag magpapalagay ako ng hangin, nagti-tip na lang ako afterwards. I'd rather stay inside the car with all the doors locked.

Grabe na to, pati Altis tinitira na rin at 7am! I thought our Txtalert's market are those high-end SUV's na madalas nacacarjack. Pero it seems kailangan na din sa mga low-end cars like corollas etc.
