Bought in Dec-2012, got my plate in May-2013 and stickers in June-2013. Typically 3-9 months waiting time for plates.

got my unit 3rd week of may (TGC). 2nd week of june my plates na (uq series) sans the stickers. hindi naman sa nagrereklamo ako pero i got them plates real fast. saw a plate starting at WD last week along quezon-ave.

May additional charge daw yung request ko ng ending number para coding ng friday!?

Another racket in the ofting?got my ending number request granted at no extra cost,btw,got my plate in 3 months time

MANILA, Philippines - New motor vehicle plates will be out by October, according to Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya.

In an interview on dzMM's Failon Ngayon, Abaya said the bidding process for the new motor vehicle plates is almost finished, which means a new supplier will provide the new plates by October.

"Hopefully by end of August, by September or October we will see the new plates in the streets," he said.

Abaya also noted that from the perspective of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) central office, there is zero backlog of motor vehicle plates. There have been reports that many new car owners have yet to get plates.

"Sa mga motor vehicle plates, zero na ang backlog na. Ito po ang pananaw sa central office. Na-deliver na at natutumbasan na sila yun, slowly nagregister na bago," he said.

However, there is a backlog for new motorcycle plates and LTO stickers. But Abaya said the new stickers are expected to be delivered by the end of July.

"Sa motorcycle plates, bandang 480,000 ang backlog namin sa LTO. Isa rin issue ang LTO stickers, ang backlog namin ay 970,000, sa motorcycles ay 370,000," Abaya said.

The supplier for LTO stickers reportedly had financial problems, which prompted the LTO to cancel the contract and blacklist them.

"We're about to cancel their contract, and a few months ago, nadesisyonan na namin na i-blacklist na ito at magawa lang natin, ipressure sila. Sa LTO stickers, kinontrata natin yun APO-NEDA, yun printing office of the government. Sabi nila hopefully by the end of the month, madeliver na nila yun LTO stickers," he said.

No more choosing plate number endings?

Abaya suggested some measures to cut down on the delays in the issuance of new plates, such as preventing car owners from choosing the number ending of their plates.

"Isang problema nakikita namin yun polisiya na puede mamili ng ending... Yan ang isang reporma, sa susunod dapat randomly generated. Kasi sa kakahintay mo ng ending, part of the delay din yun," he said.

The DOTC chief also asked car dealers to deliver their request for new plates as soon as possible, instead of sending it by batches, which adds to the backlog.

By October, malamang may delay nanaman yang new plates haha malamang next sasabihin ay next year january na haha! Kaya ndi ako umaasa na lalabas pa ang new designed plates kasi it should have been out since last month pag i babacktrack yung news.

No more backlog? Taenang mga tangang yan eh andaming nagkalat ma printed conduction sticker ida na ako dun, tapos walang backlog? Hayyy katangahan na naman pinairal. Basta may media papogi taenang yan naka tumakbo pang senador tong mga tangang to.

Pano na yung last digit pag new plates na ? Mababago ba kasi 4 digits na ? Pano na yung color coding pag ganun sa mga lumang cars na mapapalitan ng new plates
