We live in a third world country, we cannot expect all of our PUV drivers to drive responsibly, most of them aren't even HS graduates!!! I'm not giving them any excuse for driving so recklessly, these are just the facts, what makes matters worst is that the police/traffic enforcers turn a blind eye on them when they blatantly and repeatedly break the law. Just look at the bus lane, do you see MMDA/Police fully enforce this? I doubt it, they may pull over a few buses but its not consistent (The law enforcers themselves break the traffic rules and regulations!!!! sheesh :drool.
The real problem here is the enforcement of the law, when that's done I think the drivers here will be more responsible because they know the consequenses of their actions. But at our current state I doubt that will happen. Well just be patient and drive defensively and anticipate.
I also work in the binondo area so I can relate with you guys regarding those d*mn pedicabs and calesas, they are really a menace and primary cause of traffic along with those jeepneys. But the problem is madaming tamad mag lakad so they ride those peddicabs/calesas so we've got to live this.
