Exclusive: Photos and info about blue Maserati in mauling incident

Yesterday morning, an MMDA traffic officer was mauled by a then-unidentified driver of a blue Maserati in Quezon City after the traffic officer had taken a video of the Maserati at the corner of Araneta Avenue and Quezon Avenue. The luxury car didn't have a license plate, so the driver could have fretted when he saw traffic officer Jorvy Adriatico taking a video of his car.

Adriatico has since filed a formal complaint, and the Maserati driver/owner has been tagged by the Quezon City police as one Joseph Russel Ingco. Until last night, however, the man and his car had not been located, although his address--Valencia Hills condominium on N. Domingo Street in Quezon City--had already been determined.

We then received one photo of a blue Maserati Ghibli with conduction number QQ0057 from a person whose surname is also Ingco. We checked his friends list on Facebook and there were a handful of Ingcos there as well, indicating the person's identity is legit. But we still decided against publishing the photo as the person didn't seem to want to provide any more details.

And then we got contacted by a neighbor of Joseph Russel Ingco, who also lives in the same high-end Valencia Hills condominium building. He said the Maserati is parked in their building, and that it is now cloaked in a car cover. When we sent him the photo we had received and asked if that was the conduction number of the Maserati in question, he said he wasn't sure as he wasn't familiar with the car's conduction number.

"Let me step out and take a photo of it," he offered. This meant lifting the car cover to see the conduction sticker. The photos you see here--the ones the neighbor took--confirm that the first photo we received was, in fact, accurate.

"Cops and media are now here on standby," the neighbor told us. "There's a letter from Malacañang, but our guards still need a court order for them to allow the police and the reporters in. The whole family moved out of our building last night, bringing with them their cars except the Maserati, which is now trapped here."

When asked to describe Ingco, our source said: "I can't imagine Russel would do such a thing. He is a very quiet and mild-mannered person. He only started to accumulate expensive cars about three years ago. He's into the business of recycling bottles for San Miguel Corporation."

The neighbor added that he still saw Ingco yesterday, and that he was surprised when he saw Ingco's family moving out a lot of stuff.

"Russel seems to be very harmless," the neighbor said. "News reports now say that he is a known friend of Cedric Lee, but that is not true. I know Cedric and his associates personally. A lot of hearsay is going around, and it is sad that the guy has been prejudged by the public already."

We hope the truth will soon come out, and that Joseph Russel Ingco will step forward to answer the allegations being attached to his name.
