Matagal ng necessity ang dashcam wayyyy before this case. Your encounter with those pesky Trikes, underbones, PUVs, and ahole cagers far outnumber your encounter with pesky TEs.

In other countries, it is illegal to take photos/vidoes to a person without his/her consent. In thie case, ala naman violation yung si Ingco, so why TE taking video on him even before the midlle finger came up? medyo provocative nga and the impatient Ingco also made a stupid move. pareho sila may kasalanan.

Also, more importantly, the base pay for police is much higher, since the educational requirements (now) are much higher. Can we afford to pay for more police just to do the rather simple job of directing traffic?

Those videos and other previous complaints surely matters. It cast a cloud of doubt on the TE's statements, the provocations and invectives hurled against motorists he encountered, which he conveniently didn't state. And lest we forget, the MMDA head was all praises and standing by his enforcer, even stating that he has clean record in service. And from the looks of it, he was quite possibly up for commendation and promotion. Which would surely set a bad precedent.

As to encouraging others to file complaints, on the contrary its quite discouraging bec. a complaint was filed in Feb. 2013 that was even addressed to the MMDA head and yet almost two years have passed and no actions was taken.

At this point, it will become impossible for Tolentino to ignore the complaints.

And even then... pumatol si Ingco. Which means he doesn't get off totally scot-free.

Citing some internal MMDA memo on HOW videos are supposed to be taken, the defenders, seemingly supported by DZMM hosts Jerry and Anthony, say that Adriatico WAS TAKING THE VIDEO TOO AGGRESSIVELY.

Unfortunately, the Ingco defense also admits that IT WAS INGCO, that hit the camera holding hand of Adriatico first. In other words Ingco admits to making aggressive physical contact with Adriatico.

THEN they say that Adriatico took a swipe at Ingco in return.

Sigh. Do I really have to go on?

At best Adriatico will be administratively sanctioned for his aggressive video behavior. Its a memo! On the other hand by admitting that Ingco made first contact, he seals his fate in the criminal case.

Team Ingco should really just stop this as its getting to painful to watch. Someone seems to be pulling the strings and convincing Ingco that there's a case to be won here even if there is none.

Its turning into a whining "eh Kasi eh Kasi siya eh" situation more reminiscent of a playground schoolchild hitting the school monitor.

Trust me I'd love to stop commenting on this but its a fascinating train wreck of a PR job and I can't help but watch.

However bad Adriatico may be (and it's very likely he is), Ingco loses this case. The judge won't look at the TE's being an arrogant arse. He's going to be looking at who did what. In both versions of the kuwento kutsero, Ingco made the first "move", so it ends up badly for him, either way.

FYI Obama played peacemaker between a white police officer and a black priest (IIRC) that was causing racial tension in the US several years ago. He set up a mtg in the Whitehouse rose garden and had a beer with the two men. This was over covered by the media and won Obama many a brownie point.

The conspiracy theorist in me would also say that media outlets overplaying this for airtime might be in cahoots with the EPALing pol.
