Parati naman ganyan beating the redlight daw, Yellow means stop if you can do so safely.

Dapat kasi, as responsible motorists, we should SLOW DOWN at intersections, whether or not there are traffic lights, because you never really know what's going to happen.

You cannot really say na alanganin na mag-stop nung Yellow light na, because that means, you were cruising at a rather higher speed than usual. The Yellow light means CAUTION, SLOW DOWN and NOT "GO FASTER."

Alam nyo naman ang mentalidad ng Pinoy, ayaw palamang, gusto lagi nauuna, kaya we should really be more on the safe side. We should slow down at intersections, kasi there really is a tendency for other drivers, mainly PUV's, to beat the red light. Kaya ayun, disgrasya.

Re: your question, I asked around, yung Reckless driving daw kasi covers a lot of driving violations, and yes, it does include "beating the red light," which is not a specific violation

ang problem kasi dito sa atin green tapos yellow biglang magrered.. so theres no time to slow down. hindi ba nila alam na it will cause din ng accident kasi baka biglang mag full stop tpos yung nasa likod niya ay mabilis. sana sinabi mo "bakit may beating the yellow light ba?" hehehehe

"bakit may beating the yellow light ba?"

i remember what happened to an officemate, a lady driver in her honda city. she's so cautious with the traffic lights that she usually stops upon seeing a yellow light. this one time, her car got bumped from the rear kasi the other car behind her is trying to speed up(assuming she'll speed up as well) to cross the entersection while the light is yellow.

ganyan talaga sa atin dito sa pilipinas. 'gray area' yong ganyan, syempre pulis pa rin usually nananalo. what i usually do is slow down a bit and keep an eye at my rearview mirror kung may nakabuntot, and the traffic light. then tantyahan na lang kung mag-yellow ba or hindi at kung kaya pa ba mag-stop without getting bumped.

syempre kahit pano kakabahan yon lalo na pag Colonel o General yung position. basta ba wag arogante yung dating pag sinita tayo. laging may kasamang sir/mam pasensya na... nadadaan sa diplomasya yan mga yan. people skills kumbaga...

Nagkwento samin yung driver ni ermat, one time along Araneta cor.

You'll put yourself and the motorist behind you at even greater risk.

Which means, you should be really alert coming up on stoplights. Especially if you're at the back of a line of vehicles. They won't catch you if there's a whole bunch of you crossing at the yellow, but if you're making "pahabol" and there's no one around you, and the light turns... you're out of luck.

I used to get caught all the time... sometimes it was my fault, sometimes as the victim of money-making... What happens when you make a panic stop because the enforcer signals you too late? You're blocking the pedestrian lane... Bull-S***. Now I know better. Stay in the thick of traffic. Watch the other cars, and watch the lights.

Either way, while you're technically correct that you shouldn't be caught for crossing at a yellow light, it's your own butt you're saving by being alert and watching traffic lights, conditions and enforcers like a hawk.

By the way? Calling cards? Depends on how gullible the officer is... since some generals give out tons of cards, they've learned to ignore these.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

agree with sir niky, pag nasanay kang maging alerto especially sa mga intersection at kung pano mag-behave ang mga traffic lights saka sa paligid kung may mga enforcers (whether MMDA, Police or Local Enforcers) parang automatic na sayo kung ano ang gagawin mo. Instinct na kumbaga.

Pero syempre paminsan-minsan expect the unexpected.

Marami ng complaints akong naririnig regarding that FAT BEEEECH!! Dati buong pamilya ko nasa isang kotse kami, pinara kami pero lahat kami sabi sa driver (youngest brother ko), huwag na niya pansinin, just drive away and so he did he he he!!!

Obstructing traffic flow (i.e.: waiting for the next green while it's still green) is also an offense.

Yeah, I know what you mean about those female enforcers. Not a generalization per se, but as an observation, out of all the justified and unjustified tickets I've gotten, all of the justified ones came from men... half of the unjustified ones came from female enforcers.

Another story: Osmeņa Highway... the double stoplight with the island in the middle where two one way roads cross the highway (near Paco). If you stop on the island because of a red light... you're obviously "beating the red light", according to MMDA logic... and two female enforcers come from out of nowhere to apprehend you. And all the while, scooters just zip on through the lights, irregardless of color. Sad but true.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
