The horrendous traffic at the foot of the Lambingan bringe crossing the Pasig River in Sta Ana should not be happening because of its wide 8 lanes approach. But with the helter-skelter jeepney driver mentality of hogging and waiting for passengers right in the middle of the road, traversing this part of the city is one of the worst driving experience you will have to bare. Police and traffic aides are no where there, once in a while the village or city idiot tries to take the herculean or if not impossible task of putting order to the contorted traffic flow.
Is this the City or MMDA's jurisdiction. There's definitely some sort of official negligence here. There should be something ordinary citizens can do about this. Class suit? Vs. the City or the jeepneys? Maybe LTFRB for allowing registration to this jeepneys clogging the Sta Ana - Padre Faura route.

May 25th, 2006 07:15 PM #2I used to live nearby in that area, and problema talaga yung mga jeepney dyan. Dati pang chokepoint yung baba ng tulay coming from Punta, pati na yung sa Petron station on the other side.

Super bobo mga gumagawa ng bottleneck roads din talaga, para namang di nila expect na counterflow tapos merge mga tao...
Kung magkakaclass suit ka againts city or PUV regarding traffic, baka naging 6 footer na si Gloria wala pang hearing.

May 25th, 2006 11:12 PM #4We live in the area and talagang nakaka-high blood yung mga jeepney na yan. They'll stop to pick up passengers/make a u-turn anytime and anywhere the want
May dad and our neighbor once went to Mr Bayani Fernando to ask for help but unfortunately wala syang magawa since the place is under the jurisdiction of his "bestfriend" Mayor Atienza. Ayaw pagalaw sa MMDA.

May 26th, 2006 12:43 AM #5yan bridge na yan ang isang halimbawa kapag pinabayaan ang jeepney drivers on their own. grabe mapapamura ka talaga sa mga pinaggagawa nila dyan. sayang yung kalye and even the bridge ang laki at maganda pa naman.

May 29th, 2006 03:41 PM #8Sayang, had a chance meeting with Mayor Atienza, but there were several people vying for his attention. Isa nga don traffic din reklamo, ang sabi ni Mayor ang solution don ay tanggalin yung police na responsable.
Wala namang kahit anino ng pulis doon sa lugar na yon at talaga yatang malakas ang mga jeepney associations/

May 31st, 2006 09:29 PM #17i pass there regularly. i think one time about 2-3 months ago, may dumating na traffic police/mmda and pinaghahatak ang mga jeepney na naka-double and triple park. (nang matanggal ang mga nakaharang, may lumantad na parang makeshift talyer -- dun mismo sa 2 outer lanes ng kalye ang talyer niya.) anyway, after 3-4 days, balik na naman sa dati ang traffic.

May 31st, 2006 09:57 PM #18paradahan at sakayan ng puj ang area na iyan at talagang magulo...nabiktima na ako dyan ng PUJ noong 2002...katatapos ko pa lang papinturahan yung left rear door ng corolla ko noon...same day, pagdating ko dyan sa dulo ng lambingan bridge eh may dumikit na PUJ sa likuran ng kotse...buset!!!...pahirapan pa singilin ang mga PUJ drivers na iyan...buti na lang maliit lang yung bangga...
