pero di din pwedeng basta idahilan na tradisyon kc, they should also be considerate of the feelings of those who are not from san juan, halimbawa may napikon, humingi sila dapat ng dispensa n huwag yung papatulan pa nila at makikipagsuntukan sila

can't blame them...alam mong babasain ka pag napadaan ka dun...

wag kang pupunta o dadaan...take an alternate route...may choice tayo dito di ba?

kung dadaan ka pa rin...well, its a risk for you to take.

haha the more you ask them na wag mo saling basain the more na tubig ang itatapon sayo. No consideration kahit mga kapitbahay nilang me pasok and do not celebrate the fiesta eh di pinapatawad.

it happens only once a year... i say let those ppl have their fun and have their "tradition" even if it's a foolish one... at least, they get to forget about their problems and struggles for a day...

i'm from new manila and i pass through san juan everyday... i've seen a lot of these basaan days and got wet once...

for motorists just remember to roll up your windows and nothing will happen... you'll just get a wet windshield and/or window... this day normally happens during the rainy season so no diff... for those taking public transpo, just avoid the area for that day and take an alternative route...

how about those people who DON"T have a car?

how about those people who do NOT have an alternate route going to work?

how about those people who CANNOT afford a taxi going to work?

how about those people who DOESN'T give a damn about these stupid celebrations because he has to earn a living?

and come to think of it, those who are participating in these kind of celebration are those who are not working. kaya walang nangyayari sa Pilipinas eh.

i have lots of friends from san juan, and we used to live there. i used to go to school there from '83 to '93. i always go there.

i havent heard from anybody from the "above-mentioned" group complaining...

i don't think so ser mazda...

it seems like na pinatatamaan mo yung mga san juan residents/ baluarte ni erap or the estradas...

unfair naman yan kasi di pa si erap ang mayor, nambabasa na talaga sila sa sanjuan tuwing june24 na feast day of their patron saint, john the baptist. and even in balayan, batangas...the festival there is "parada ng lechon", pero bakit may basaan nangyayari? not because gusto lang nila makisabayan sa sanjuan but because their patron saint is saint john as well...

    I second what mazdamazda posted.

Sure, these people have their right to withold their "tradition" (a term im using to its extent). Pero they should keep it to themselves. Heck, who would care if these people keep their basaan to themselves. Mag-ihiian pa sila kung gusto nila.

But what people fail to see is the right of others not to participate in these "traditions".

No one should be happy at another's expense. (provided that B party doesnt consent to it)

so be it... if those people don't want to participate.. they have the will/choice not to pass on that area as we all know that this "basaan" occur every june 24.
