lots of things politicians didnt think of
there will be ripple effects throughout the economy
and it's gonna change our view towards cars
would we even buy new cars pa?
the rate of depreciation will be insane
Would rich people still buy multi-million peso cars when after ten years it will be banned from the road?
gaya-gaya putomaya ang pinoy politicians. tingin ko nga if they implement this, we will have more unregistered cars on the road. (hence my unregistered L300 FB can work). we don't give the manufacturing industry an avenue for growth. (e.g. mapasukan ng KMU yung planta mo, ridiculous tong on local gov't, high electricity rates, etc...).
From some quick arithmetic, given that the only way to sell our cars overseas secondhand is to ship them to China and sell them for a third of the current resale value... over ten years, the average cost of this measure to the low-end consumer will be 300,000 - 500,000 pesos. A 50% increase in expenses.
That's make or break for most new car buyers... equivalent to nearly doubling their monthly installments. The new car market won't crash overnight, but if taxes stay the same, it will definitely crash.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
talaga yatang ang mga gov't officials natin di ginagamit ang kukote. hayyyy! isa ako sa magpoprotesta if ever, coz my car is really really seldom used. tuwing uuwi lang ako for vacation lalabas ng garage yun and that will be only for 1 month. after that balik na naman sa pedestal hahaha! a 3 year old car with an odo of around 5k. so in the case of the gov't's proposal, naka 15k pa lng odo ko i-phase out na yun car dahil 10 years na???![]()
^ napakawalang kwenta. so pano kung i-ban nila ang 15 years old L300 fb, tapos ganun pa rin ang ipapalit. anong sense. tsk tsk
Just a thought lang.
While managing EDSA during rush hour, I've notice the number of commuters jampacked in the MRT, the multitude of people waiting on the FX terminals and riding on the buses. Eventually, they will progress and will buy cars soon thus spurring the car industry. There are a lot of potential customers here in the Philippines.
On the flipside, traffic will be on a stand still once that would happen. We need more roads.
Unless we all buy locally manufactured cars, Will not help. dapat lahat ng delapidated public vehicles ang unahin.
Basta unahin mga public vehicles kasi mostly sa kanila nasa kalsada ng 15hrs or more per day samantalang private cars kadalasan around 4 hrs lang a day gaya ko average 2 hrs lang, then most private cars are well maintained.
Nope. Not everyone riding the trains and PUVs are upwardly mobile. Not everyone gets the opportunity to get a high-paying job that allows them the luxury of a car. Not everyone gets an opportunity to rise out of the poverty trap they were born into.
Heck, real wages have not increased since the year 2000. Income distribution has barely improved since 1986.
The gov't should apply this for PUV's. These are the vehicles that are worn down than private cars. I can't imagine riding in a 93 corolla xl with dilapidated interior, exterior and a barely working air con. And yet they charge the same as a 2012 vios/accent.
Also the PUJ's need to be phased out and replaced with a Minibus/Coaster. This would accommodate more people and leave a lesser carbon footprint. Its no longer a sign of Filipino ingenuity but more of a sign of Filipino's backward mentality.
AGREE!!!
Haaay bakit nagiging paurong tayo.
Paktay pag nagkataon si Old Faithful namin...
