For the simple reason siguro na sa tingin niya masisira yung gulong niya o alanganin na ang tumabi.

Well, it might be true especially for steel-belted tires, hindi na maganda ang structural integrity ng tires, mainly the sidewall, kung ni-run flat.

Consider it this way. If your tire gets flat, and you'd rather replace it on the road, would you want to risk injury and possibly your life if some inattentive driver came barreling down your way and did not see you, or worse, pretended not to see you? To think sa probinsiya so I heard, standard procedure patayin na lang yung tao para menos gastos sa hospital bills pag nasagi mo't buhay pa?

Is your tire worth so much more than your life?

hay naku. mga walang paki sa road safety at courtesy yung mga ganyan. ang di nila naisip e malamang lamang naitakbo na nila ng flat yun for quite some time before nila marealize na flat na pala gulong nila. so what harm can a few more feet do para lang maitabi sa gilid ang sasakyan? hindi naman kelangan out of the road talaga. kahit igilid at iparallel lang sa gutter.

most drivers naman kasi dito sa atin didn;t have the proper trainings, so hinde rin nila siguro alam kung anong proper procedure kung na flat sila...

imho, dapat may EWD siya a few meters from his vehicle para malaman ng mga motorists na kailangan nila mag-slow down at umiwas na rin ng lane. ito kasi ang silbi ng EWD.

if I may reiterate hinde masisira ang gulong pag tinabi ang sasakyan and beside sino ba nagsabi na itatakbo mo pa pag na flat ka na, you'll just roll it slowly to the side of the road...dyahe tingnan? ano ka artista meron ka bang image na dapat i-protect?..natural lang na ma-flat ang mag palit ng gulong..ang dyahe is yun tatanga-tanga na hinde marunong itabi sa gilid ng daanan at sa gitna mag palit...yun ang dyahe..

Ayaw masira ang gulong and/or rims. Para sa kanila, mas importante pa ang mga ito kaysa sa buhay nila, kaya kung saan na flat, duon na mismo magpapalit.

I think it's indeed their belief that moving the car to a safer place a few meters away will destroy their tires.

Though I don't subscribe to Bayani Fernando's order to drivers to just run the cars with flat tires since these tires are already destroyed, I think you should still get your car out of the way of traffic, as much as possible, and reduce your exposure to risk in the process.

By leaving your car in the middle of the street and changing your tire there, you risk being sideswiped on the side of the tire being replaced, and you risk your car being scratched or sideswiped, accidentally or otherwise, on the other side. Plus, you're backing traffic up coz instead of just taking up about one side lane, you decide to stay in the middle of the road and ask everyone to avoid you from both sides.

Call your friendly neighborhood tow truck or the MMDA to get them to remove the obstruction. Tignan mo, in 15 min. tanggal 'yan.

Bakit ang Pinoy ang hilig magpalit ng gulong - sa gitna ng daan?
