thanks for the replies Sir's. other input will be highly appreciated, kasi ako no matter what i stop at the pedxing to give way for the pedestrian, it is just that most of the time nabubusinahan ako dahil let's just say naka go. pero sometimes guilty din ako to honk on pedestrians especially if it is a GO. honk to alert them and not pagalit na busina.

QUESTION2: same question sa pedestrian, pano kung yung tatawid eh sa hindi tawiran. e.g. may foot bridge pero instead na umakyat tumatalon sila sa island/barrier. how do you handle that?

is it still consider a bad motiring etiqutte kung bubusinahan ko? - i am guilty of this.

well kung naka go naman e i guess ok lang sa nabusina, kasi to alert them..

    medyo off topic,
if its one thing on blowing horns, friendly beep or just a plain bleep, sounds the same thou..hehehhe

pero try mo din ung no pedestrian thing might work

Yup, as i have mentioned inaantay ko sila tumawid, kaso yung nasalikod ko yung makulit bumusina ng bumusina. ibang usapan pa yung nakamotor na sisingit.

pero what i am guilty of is, for example a pedestrian crossing a no pedestrian crossing zone - like dito sa may palengke ng alabang nsa ibabaw yung elevated walkway pero magjaywalk, buendia tipong bandang post office yung tumatalon sa island, same story sa bicutan may elevated walk opero kadalasan daming nagjajaywalk and other area pa..

thanks for the reply peepz, baka malagay ako dito sa bad motoring etiquette eh. niyahahaha.

We modeled our traffic rules and regulations sa US, kaya pedestrian always have the right of way. Kapag may accident with a vehicle lagi yung may vehicle ang may kasalanan.

Pero for me I let the pedestrian pass first.

Passing through Recto in countless number of times in my life, I definitely honk at idiot pedestrians who cross the street when the traffic light goes green and their pedestrian light red, not caring whether they're on the ped xing or not. They are one of the leading causes of traffic in there.

If you give way to them always there, you will always spend at least 2 rounds of lights on almost every intersection because they are endless and do not care about the lights or discipline or being considerate. Not to mention that a good number of them take their time walking and talking as if strolling inside the mall.

notorious din yan sa pagitan ng along makati avenue, between Landmark and Greenbelt..

some time back, we were driving along a narrow two-lane road near tagaytagay.. and for some reason, it was a longish queue slowily winding along. we were familiar with that road, and could not understand why the movement was too slow.. until finally, one by one, each vehicle overtook the cause of the traffic.. habang nasa manibela ang kaliwang kamay, nag-te-texting yung kanang kamay at mga mata ng driver sa unahan!!!

Busina at flash abot nila sakin. Haha.

This morning, the owner type jeep i just passed almost got hit by a Innova who came out from a side street without even slowing down and abiding to right-of-way rules (the owner jeep and myself were on a main road). Nagsagutan sila sa stoplight and the irritating is nagmamarunong pa si Innova driver (with a student kid pa who he was probably bringing to school). I was near to going down from my car and joining the confrontation against the Innova driver but that would be none of my business at that point really.

    vinj,

True, kung sumalpok sila, it would have looked like si owner ang nag cause ng accident since he would have hit the Innova who came out of the sidestreet very fast.

I stop for people crossing at pedestrian lanes -- whenever it's safe, that is. Like what chiks said, kung biglang brake at may risk na ako naman ang salpukin ng nasa likod, better na ituloy na lang granted the pedestrian knows your intentions. I would think it would be the lesser of two evils because the pedestrian would be attentive to whether or not you'll let him cross, so he just won't bolt in front of you, rather than getting the blame from the idiot following too closely behind you, too busy to see your sudden brake coz he was texting.

For pedestrian lanes with stop lights, that's when I check both my light and theirs. Kung Go na ako at Stop na sila, aba, may mabubusinahan. Then again, there are times na Go kayo pareho (coz turning lane siguro), so for those, menor na lang.

Can't totally blame them coz the jack*$$es in the government have not exactly designed user friendly overpasses, although it's unfair as well for them to put their lives at risk at the expense of yours.

Yun nga ang hirap sa Pinoy. Tamad. Ayaw maglakad ng konti para hindi makasagabal. Tapos, yung mga hinayupak na PUV at taxi, wala ding pakialam basta may pumara, stop agad. Sandali lang daw at may sasakay/bababa.

Yes change comes from within. But in the meantime that a lot of people don't want to, someone's gotta make it happen forcefully.

I don't know now, but when SBMA was with the Gordons after the Americans left, they could enforce traffic laws pretty well.

are you refering to the battery-operated scooters? of course they do not know how to drive... they have no driver's license. they are not required to have one!
perhaps it is time to change this law...
