last saturday, while driving home to bulacan, this damn driver of Isuzu HiLander almost totaled with my ride. The reason? He just simply swerved to the left most lane of the road in Camachile carelessly. FYI, the pavement in Camachile toward NLEX is under restoration, while this inner most lane is paved already.

hmmm. u-turn slots.. agree with you, dapat at least man, may bakod pa din yung iikutan, para limited pa rin yung lanes na masasakot after the u-turn.

just this morning, me fineature sa MUB...banggaan between two buses sa bandang edsa-munoz u-turn slot...one bus was trying to make the u-turn, e hindi pinagbigyan ng other bus....ayan, 5 lanes naging one lane na lang

imho some of the u-turn slots are awkwardly placed, i.e. nasa long stretch of road where drivers usually drive fast...delikado lalo na kung gabi, since parang pang dekorasyon lang ung lamp posts natin

Let's face it. Sometimes, the U-Turn slots work for some areas...and sometimes they don't. An example of the latter would be the stretch of EDSA at ground level near the intersection of East-Avenue to Timog Ave.

Cars coming from Timog going to East Ave. can no longer cross EDSA. Instead, they have to turn right to EDSA and make a U-Turn under the fly-over. The problem with this is there are two (2) bus terminals right in front of the U-Turn slots.

Add to that, buses regularly stop to load and unload passengers at those areas. So...what use is the U-Turn when you have two-thirds of the highway blocked by buses and the remaining portion left for those who make a u-turn to go to East Ave. or go straight to EDSA-Cubao? Looks like the MMDA created a bigger problem by making a chokepoint or bottleneck on that stretch since there are a lot of vehicles which go from Timog to East Ave. and there are an equal if not greater number of cars which come from Q.A. or East Ave. going straight to EDSA-Cubao.

If the MMDA wants this scheme to succeed, maybe they should eliminate the bus terminals in those areas so that there are no gridlocks caused by buses loading their passengers.

This is assuming ALL drivers marunong magbigayan, maayos mag drive. Notice, the opposite is the case in Manila. Drivers hog the lane, others try to create their own lane, etc.

I found out that the signal lights are not for signaling that one is about to go in a certain direction.

Eto mentality ng karamihan ng drivers ngayon: Kasi pag nag signal ka, say to the left, you will always be cut-off by another vehicle coming from that direction. Eh pano, signal lights mean to the approaching driver: "hoy bilisan ko dapat yung takbo ko, dapat mauna ako sa nag-sisignal, bawal pagbigyan siya... " I've seen this happen lots of times.

So the guy is assuming that you are that kind of a driver, and behaved accordingly, hayop talaga.

So nowadays, swerve muna in the direction of where one is going, then kung pasok na or malapit na maaksidente, switch on the signal light. Reason here is kung naaksidente ng tuluyan, eto ang sagot "... eh naka signal naman ako ah! Ikaw ang bumangga sa akin etc. etc. ... "

Haay ganun na talaga ang mundo... can't do anything about it.

Based on my experience, ok naman ang mga U-Turn slots. The ones near the intersection of EDSA/North Ave (and Q Ave-Araneta) have helped ease traffic A LOT...

Haay...

Maganda naman ang U-turn schemes . .. daming na walang traffic. However, drivers talaga problema dito.

To be constructive, dapat may seminars or lectures in the proper use of the U-turn slots. If you notice, lahat ng u-turn slots may concrete barriers para i-redirect ang traffic away from the cars turning. However, ang ginagawa ng ibang drivers ay they go past the lane covered by the barriers thus they wait until the on-coming traffic to ease up thus clogging the u-turn slot. They should instead approach the u-turn in a manner that they would take the inner lane when making the turn.

Yung U-turn sa EDSA-Balintawak badtrip din. All the lanes are hogged by the ones making the U-turn.

Don't worry so much about driving on the yellow lane.

So far, hanggang tingin pa lang naman sila sa akin when I drive on the other side of yellow.

sa U-turn slots, lalo nakaka-pressure. just like those commuters who place themselves at the foot of flyovers. kaya nga nimbento ang flyover para iwasan sila
    eh.

Gma has decided, it's BF who has the SAY with MM infra's...

And the dpwh secretary knows it. Yong nag-iingay, tinamaan sa cancellation ng project, pun intended! he he he

dpwh take is that in 10 years, di na raw kaya ang volume ng cars ng mga U turn slots. BF's answer to that is an elevated U-turn slot which is way way cheaper than a multi-level flyover/interchange designed for Munoz and in North-Edsa.
