February 27th, 2010 11:44 PM #13I agree on the whole speeding thing...
Just want to add... its not only in the speed... its also on driving responsibly like pup2 said... right now i'm in canada for an extended business meeting and I drive a car everyday... their speed limit here is less than ours... 60 kph max... I'm sure most of us would say that on the open road 60kph is soooo slow... that's how i usually feel, but when in rome do what the romans do... respect their law...
even with their max speed a little bit lower, they still do have accidents... so better safe than sorry... avoid speeding, drive responsibly and be alert...

Its always been my tagline to "Assume everyone on the street is stupid so I have to be extra careful" when driving.

A red mitsubishi strada smashed into the railings and double cement barriers around Quezon Memorial Circle before being stopped by a tree.
It did not kill the passenger and driver (all were badly hurt, the driver screaming in pain) but I bet this vehicle was running no less than 60 to 80 kph in an area with a speed limit of 30 kph.

Pareho tayo sir. Idagdag na natin kapag nakaharang ang isang bus sa isang street (so wala ka ng sight kung may papalikong kotse from the street and into the road you're in). I always assume na baka may lumabas biglang kotse na kakaliwa or dederecho that's why I slow down. Also kapag traffic sa kabilang lane tapos katabi mo lang sila sa lane mo, I assume na baka may tumawid or may motor na lumabas at di tumitingin.
RE: tumatawid ng di tumitingin, guilty ako dito kanina nung tumawid ako ng isang intersection (pedestrian ako kanina). Nagkataon lang. Noong papatawid na ako and go ang signal for pedestrians. Di ako tumingin sa kaliwa because stop yung mga vehicles across the intersection eh. Sakto may papakanang Innova so hinto siya then busina ng medyo may katagalan. Nasa isip ko ako ang may right of way dahil ako ang pedestrian, pero guilty rin ako kasi di ako tumingin sa kaliwa.
