To the South Tsikoteers, have you come across this convoy?
    - Dark Green Nissan Urvan
    - White Toyota Corolla (AE101) - dark plate covers
    - White Nissan Urvan - OEL-111 - dark plate covers

I was driving to Makati at around 7:30 this morning when I came across these 3 vehicles at the foot of the Alabang viaduct. They were running in the order mentioned above. I was only able to get the plate of the white Urvan as it came last, but I had to get close just to read the plate. They seemed to be in convoy as they were all flashing their hazard lights and were in one line. What caught my attention, aside from the hazard lights, was the composition of the convoy, and then the way these vehicles were being driven. 2 heavily-tinted Urvans "escorting" a run-down AE101? Reminded me of the Scooter and Kia convoy story.

Anyhow, the 2 vans kept their red and blue blinkers, which were positioned behind their front grilles, on. They would use their sirens from time to time to be able to cut through some traffic. But it didn't seem that they knew how to "escort" the vehicle in the middle properly. Their convoy would get cut from time to time by pissed off motorists coz they were following too far apart. Then they'd weave their way back to the pack. Since not too many took them seriously, a lot of private vehicles would not give them room. They'd have to slow down to allow the last car to catch up, then they'd have him slot somewhere in between the convoy, then the convoy would speed up again. Nakakainis! Parang naglalaro lang na hindi mo maintindihan!

Anyone come across these fools on a regular basis? Anyone know them?

Hay... bwisit na mga convoy... sounds like the politicos I came across last Saturday going southbound on the SLEX.

Because there were two SUVs, an Innova and an E150 in the convoy, they were only able to make about 80 km/h on the SLEX... yet they held up traffic because they wouldn't let anyone pass! Anaknam*****!!! I managed to overtake the whole convoy when their police escort pulled out in front of me and pushed me backwards, and the Innova pushed me onto the left shoulder.

Sa bwisit ko, next pass, I ignored the escorts and went through anyway... out of jurisdiction, no emergency, no emergency lights on... bahala ka sa buhay mo. Probably not my most proud moment, but I was fed up.

Ang yabang nila... no government plates, no emergency, no rush, and they kept pushing people off the road, left and right. Who the hell needs three lanes to go home?

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Yung ibang 'low budget' convoys mga nag-eescort ng prisoners to and from hearings.

Pero hindi ba dapat sa official vehicle ng BJMP sila sumasakay?

Yup, I came some of these Moth*!Fu%&^$ convoys. Some are so rude that they literally pushes you to the side with nozzle guns peeping up these heavily tinted windows. The thing is that, I was with children as my passenger that time and these convoys in front and back dont care.

I even courteously give them the right of way but instead they get a kick of pushing other vehicles around. The STUPID part is that, its early SUNDAY MORNING at SLEX Nicols to Alabang. The road is clear!

Either arogant politicians or STUPID convoy drivers. I bet on the latter. Thats why they are just a pick on the streets and whaolla!!!! a Driver. Duh...

IMO, if they can't help having a convoy, and thus a larger target for would-be assassins, perhaps because they've got an entourage that can't fit into 1 vehicle, then that's their business. But could they just go about their business without having to hog the rest of the road to the detriment of the motoring public? I mean, if there's really such a threat on their lives, then have them find ways of moving around inconspicuously. Or better yet, just have them fly.

Which made me remember, just last year nung minsan namasahe ako, pagsampa ko sa bus may nakatayo na BJMP sa pinto, pagpasok may nakita akong inmate (with "detainee" printed on this yellow shirt) na nakaposas around dun sa bakal ng estribo. Ano yun? cost-cutting? Eh anytime pede gumawa ng gulo ung detainee na un or pwede sya i-setup para pakawalan ng mga kasama nya or even ng banatay. Haay...onli in da pilipins!

^that, sir vhenok is so ludicrous its frightening, haay.

anyway, i think there's a bright side to the urvan-corolla-urvan convoy, we know they didn't use tax money to buy luxury SUVs like expeditions etc hehehe

I remember back then when I was single and brash, convoy was in a rush and the motorcycle escorts were doing their thing... I just pretended not to notice them till one of them kicked my side of the door, at first I was shocked and slowed down and let them pass, but they somehow got blocked by a slow moving heavy vehicle and I was able to pass them... the same motorcycle escort tried to prevent me from passing them but I just plowed ahead (I was seeing red after their rude behavior) traveling at around 80+ I saw the escort trying to pass my, this time I was ready and just jammed on the brakes! I heard, then felt the escort as he skidded and hit my rear stepboard... saw him roll to the side of the road in a cloud of dirt... next I made a premature turn and just sped off. I know it's wrong to leave the scene of an "accident" but if you were in my shoes, any sane person would have done the same thing. When I arrived at my destination, I surveyed the L-300 and was amazed that there was only a 5 inch strip of rubber (handle bar end?) to show for it. Was this road rage? More like payback to me.

At least yun may pera talaga, eh sila 2 escort + lumang Exped w/ siren at blinkers. Hindi sila pinadaan, binalian pa kamo para hindi talaga makalusot. Nagmukha silang mga inahin na manok tuloy, malay ba nila sinong koneksyon nun.

Hi Driv3er, I'm not proud of what I did, it's just that I was driving a delivery vehicle that been around the world and a few new scratches would'nt be noticed, never try that with your own personal ride, the damage, time, effort, expense won't be worth it. Nowadays I just try to stay in my lane and keep up with the rest of the herd even if I hear escort sirens... I just pray that the escorts, and prick being escorted will get ambushed. Hey! it's election season, let's enjoy the show!

    Update:

M2 was escorting a red Revo SR XPP-463 this morning. The Revo had light tint and there appeared to be only the driver inside. Ayowz! May escort pa talaga siya. I wonder where the E150 went. Baka ginamit ng amo sa pangangampanya? Makes me wonder if anyone's in the E150 when it's being escorted. Tsk Tsk!
