RANT: makokonsiyensiya ka ba kung ....

I met an accident yesterday.
my nissan patrol collided (better term, was bumped by) with a hyundai starex past the intersection of Villar and Valero Sts in Makati.
I was driving straight along Villar coming from Paseo going to Agustin.
The starex was turning left from Valero, going to Villar.

I was following another vehicle when I got into the intersection.
Two vehicles were trying to turn left, the starex and (if my memory serves me right)a white mitsubishi adventure. The starex was in the inner left lane, the adventure was on it's right side. The adventure was sticking out it's bumper when the vehicle in front of me and my patrol crossed the intersection. This prompted us to move further to the middle of Villar St.
After driving way past the "stopped" adventure (I was just following the path of the vehicle in front of me), I have already crossed the intersection (Valero St.), the starex who was turning left hit the front of my left-rear wheel tire. It almost hit my left rear passenger door. Lucky for me, only the sidings/rear left fender of the patrol got scratches. The patrol's body didn't get hit.
Unlucky for the starex, it's front right signal lights was broken into pieces, it's front fender near the signal light got torn and the right side of it's front bumper got scratched.

The first thing they blurted out (there were two women on the starex and I was alone) was that I was driving too fast that they didn't see me coming..bigla na lang daw ako sumulpot and that I should have blown my horn. (when they were discussing with the police, they admitted that they saw me.. and still, i was driving too fast). They even said that they were slowly turning left. (i felt they were chatting and they didn't think they'd bump into the patrol).
I don't know how they define fast, but I was just following the speed of the traffic at that time. If they had made their earlier, they might have hit the vehicle in front of me.
I was surprised to see them near me when I viewed my left side view mirror, but I couldn't veer to right since there's a vehicle on the right lane.

I just feel bad eventhough I'm sure that it wasn't my fault.
But one of the ladies keep telling me if i can still sleep well thinking that i didn't share with them the expenses that will be incurred for the repair of their boss' starex...in short, "nangongonsensiya sya".
I just kept quiet while she was bluffing about the abala ..
they didn't want to go to the precint .. they just want to me give them money.
I wanted to go to the precint to prove to them my point (that it's not really my fault). And i want it written on a police report (baka kasi habulin ako ng insurance nila, when it should be me asking them for money).

Tama lang naman na hindi ko na sila singilin, di ba?
I'll just treat those scratches as OFF-ROAD stripes! hehehe.
Kung papa-repaint ko, i'd have to repaint all the sidings, para pantay..hehehe.

I'd like to apologize to the Tsikot community (in advance)..may tsikot sticker kasi yung patrol..baka ma-skandalo tayo nung mga 'yun.

based on how I picture the situation that you described, I think you have no fault in the incident.

lumiliko sya nasa unahan ka na siya ang sumabit sa truck mo malas nila hindi matibay starex nila.

walang pinagkaiba yan dun sa nangyari sa akin noon, nasa unahan yung jeep, paliko ako, inusad ko nguso ng oto ko pero sumabit sa jeep, I didn't argue with the jeepney driver dahil alam ko kasalanan ko. I just charge it to experience.

it wasnt your fault. nuff said. 3 months ago my car was also hit, somehow i felt guilty for the expenses and the time i have cost the other party for taking charge of the papers etc, but then i thought, it wasnt my fault. so i shouldnt felt guilty, anyway it would happen if they took a bit of extra care.

not your fault. buti nga di mo sila siningil kasalanan naman nila. right of way mo naman kaya sila dapat yung mabagal dahil sila yung lumiliko. ang bait mo sis hehehehe. ako nung binangga ako ng pickup sa likod di ko na lang din siningil kasi wasak yung front nung pickup, yupi ang hood pero yung jeep ko gasgas lang inabot.

Similar thing happened to me last Christmas at dela Costa cor Paseo near PCI Bank. Trooper and I turning right. Trooper on my left and slightly ahead of me. Di nya siguro ako nakita and his right front wheel hit my left front wheel. Buti na lang walang damage. Black mark lang on my rim from his tire. Since then maingat na ako sa mga ganyang sitwasyon.

Obviously, it wasn't your fault,- so no guilty feeling. Swerte pa nga nila, hindi mo sila siningil dahil pihadong talo sila...

naiinis lang ako kapag naaalala ko sila.
it was good enough na walang dent ung patrol ..kasi kung meron man, maniningil na siguro ako.

in the end, after halos isang oras, napilitan silang pumunta sa presinto dahil ayaw ibigay ng MAPSA ung lisensya nila.
gusto ko kasi ng report na magpapatunay na wala akong kasalanan at hindi nila ako pdeng habulin.

kahit sa presinto, hindi ko sila pinapansin.
yung imbestigador lang ang kausap ko.
