MANILA – Five people were injured after a sport utility vehicle (SUV) slammed into an area for arriving passengers and well-wishers at the Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Tuesday night.

The victims were identified as arriving foreign passengers Ahmad Heba and Scott Massey, who also lost his cellphone during the commotion, Filipino passenger Edwin Rubei, well-wishers Greggy Cunayan and Troi Troani.

They were rushed to the Philippine General Hospital for treatment.

The Ford Ranger with license plate AOL 999 was driven by a certain Dr. Agnes Barbosa.

Barbosa was reportedly waiting for a relative when she accidentally stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake.

This caused the vehicle to move forward, hitting the victims.

Responding airport police Jerome Adanza immediately arrested Barbosa and charges of reckless imprudence resulting to damage to properties and injuries are being prepared by airport authorities against her.

Hoping that those who were involved were not seriously injured....

well, i would like to hear her side of the story.
for all we know, she had just arrived at the scene (and had not been waiting there for some time, as what the report gives the reader the impression of), and stepped on the gas instead of the brakes because of....

at least, may umamin na nagkamali siya. kung hindi inamin, ay may another SUA in the tally sheets.

with social media and philippine television influence/style, let us not be too quick to judge. we all mistakes. you will not be here today unless you learned your lessons. to give her the benefit beyond reasonable doubt, weigh in the facts and evidence. it is filipino nature to immediately have and excuse (kamot ulo) or immediately to blame. this probably lead to trial by social media publicity.

Or, she's already in neutral with hand brake engaged, accidentally stepped on the gas then released hand brake. Probably safer to put it to "P" (hope Ranger requires driver to first step on brake before allowing to shift). The good thing is, she owned up to the mistake.

oh common! whatever happened to the word "responsible"???? we are not bashing. we just said she is the one behind the wheel and there is no one else to blame. bashing ba yun? own up, man up, whatever you call it it all comes to the same thing. responsibility. ang hirap naman aamin ka na lang na ikaw ang may gawa e sasabihin pa na bash. fnck you!

    Sus nag-talo-talo pa kayo.

Yung isa team responsibility and the other team do not bash kasi doctor yan marami nailigtas/nagamot.

Kaya lagi ko pinupush buy a manual transmission para less carelessness. You need three movement - first you need to kambyo kailangan ipremera and two simultaneous movement the kaliwa at kanan na paa to timpla the clutch and the gasolinador.

Sa matic dami careless with all the distraction like smartphone, sulyap pa sa tv. Ginawang home theater ang kotse. Ano ba yan!!!

Sa matic kasi sa sobra dali gamitin pwede mo nga itaas dalawa paa isampa sa dashboard. Alalay lang sa handbrake.

Driving is a responsibility. Nakakamatay ang mali paguugali sa pagmamaneho.

Ako nga kahit radyo minsan off ko pag busy kalsada.

Walang sudden bulaga. Galing ko noh.
