    RIP Honda Boy Racer

    http://www.gmanews.tv/video/48172/qt...mrt-post-in-qc

Two men were killed after the sedan they were riding went out of control and hit a column of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) near the TriNoMa mall in North EDSA in Quezon City early morning Thursday.

Radio dzXL reported the the driver, initially identified as Jeffrey Mariano San Juan, died on the spot while his passenger died while undergoing treatment at the nearby Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC).

An earlier report by radio dzBB's Mao dela Cruz said the light-blue Honda Civic (WLH-471) went out of control, hit the center island of the southbound lane of EDSA and crashed head-on into the MRT column at past 5 a.m.

Both victims were pinned inside the car. The dzBB report said the impact compacted the car's front end, such that the bumper was pushed back up to the steering wheel line.

Rescuers had to pry open the car's doors to extricate the two. The unnamed passenger who was rushed to the VMMC was declared dead at 6:55 a.m., the report said. - GMANews.TV

really hate it when people race those kind of cars, that model of civic is very light and agile but it's structure is relatively fragile during crashes. plus it has only front disk brakes with no abs. A friend of mine burned to death in that model civic... the newer civics are way safer but still they're not meant to be raced in public roads.

I would think this accident has less to do with the speed as to if these guys were driving drunk (under the influence of alcohol).

(What were you doing at 5am in the morning? Going home?)

wasak na wasak a. though mukhang pinutol na ng rescuers yung bubong at mga pinto. but the front is totally wrecked. ano kaya speed niya nung impact? kung immovable object mabangga mo kahit di ka ganun kabilis mawawasak talaga.

A witness said it briefly became airborne after hitting the center island before smashing into the MRT post...

    accident waiting to happen.

buti na lang sila lang ang casualties at walang nadamay na ibang motorist..

    alcohol + speed=death

^^ Airborne? I wonder what is it's speed. Drag racers should be opened up, if they`d still want to continue, they should accept the consequences they might face.

BTW, the civic looked modded. It really explains it all.

tingin ko driving under the influence of alcohol iyan kaya parang feeling niya naka-GodMode siya.

Let's say na nag-airborne yung civic, pagka-apak ng apat na gulong niya sa kalsada ng EDSA, doon siya nawalan sigurado ng control. Come on, ang edsa maluwag pero yung road condition eh bako bako.
