Since i was coding today, i left early to go to the office. While along Roosevelt just after the Coke plant at 6:40am, i saw that there was a Fortuner with its light on but no sirens counterflowing along my lane. Since he didn't move out and they was a jeep beside me, i had to let him pass by swerving to the right because we were going to have a head on collision. I then saw that the convoy was composed of 2 Fortuners and a Ford Ranger, all with blinking lights and apparently no license plates (i think).
I was tempted to turnaround and confront them but then thought "what the heck". It's not worth my time and i had a long way to go. I was also tempted to just stop along the road and make him stop but he didn't appear to move even though he was at the wrong lane. oh well, stupid morons.

Are they going to Q. Ave or towards Edsa? I was along Roosevelt too but only from Del Monte to Q. Ave. at that time. Mabuti’s di kami nag abot ehehe... kundi… wala rin ako magagawa.. bahala sila. Mga balasubas!

given the same situation, i am also sometimes tempted to just stop on the road and let those counter-flowing guys hit or avoid me. i'm pretty sure no one wants to have any accident, much more a head-on collision. unless of course, they sure do want to have a fast track to hell.

The Fortuners were on the way to Quezon Avenue while I was on my way to Edsa. It's frustrating to drive when you're the one trying to following the law and observe good driving practices especially when violators try to bully their way into your space.

Ah I see, that area of roosevelt in bgy san antonio near bayantel bldg. I guess waiting PUJs (in two lanes) were the cause, forcing the convoy to take the opposite lane. Ilang beses na rin ako nakipag murahan dyan.

good for you. I always encounter this situations near my area (OTIS). sometimes I'd give them some flashes para bumalik sila sa tamang lanes.

That is why I always carry a cheap PHD (push here dummy) P&S digital camera with me in the car. When confronted by a counter-flowing vehicle, I stand my ground, bring out my camera and start taking photos. Once the idiot notices the camera he will typically go back into the proper lane. Of course, most times as the driver passes me, he will glare at me. That is the time I smile at him and take one last photo.

Actually those idiots are only bullies when you let them bully you. I once saw a jeepney driver who could not give way to a convoy of counter-flowing vehicle. The moonlighting cop on the bike yelled at the driver but all the latter did was shrug his shoulder. (Actually he was blocked by other jeepneys which were loading/unloading from going to the outer lane. Well, the other jeepneys were more like waiting for passengers.) The convoy had no choice but to swerve back into lane.

After all, what would be the worst thing the cop can do to the driver? The last thing the cop would want is to expose his moonlighting job. Moreover, his client certainly would be media-shy about his bullying (and illegal) ways. After all, it makes for bad publicity for someone who is obsessive enough with his public image to put in all the wang-wang and bling-blings and hire escorts to appear to be a VIP.

Personally, I think if enough drivers are willing to stand up to these bastards, we may yet make a point. Fact is I am beginning to sense a manifestation of the frustration and exasperation of the general public with more and more drivers seemingly ignoring all the wangs-wangs in the street. I have increasingly seen convoys stuck in traffic with drivers not paying attention to the sirens or the escorts. Hopefully this trend will continue and become the normal reaction to unauthorized sirens and convoys.
