Hi all... My wife wants to learn how to drive. I was wondering if I could ask your help in recommending any good school/instructor. There was this one post about A1 or Socialite (I forgot which) teaching all the wrong things.
Yung basic lang, up to 5 hours' session sana, stick shift, hindi bastos yung instructor, tsaka marunong talaga. Was it PMA that was recommended? How do I reach them?
Ako sana magturo kaya lang apparently the method that was used to teach me is not applicable.
Thanks man! Nag inquire na ko. JUne 21 pa yung next available session, pero mukhang ok nga. May classroom type seminar pa. Sched na lang ang problema. Malayo kasi Makati kami.
still, after driving school, practice, practice, practice! kung hindi malilimutan mo yan! look at me, i've been thru driving school 3x na! di kasi naprapraktis...kaya pinipilit ko talagang maka drive on weekends/holidays
opinion lang po. if i were in the same situation, i'll be the one to teach my wife how to operate (note: operate not drive) the vehicle. why did i say opereate instead of drive. because (let me quote James Deakin) " teaching how to operate a vehicle is very much different from teaching how to drive"
how come. the way i see it, anybody can learn how to operate a car, but to drive, first you must learn how to operate properly, then the process of learning how to drive will follow. driving is a continuous process. one should always remember that.
anyway, my rationale why i will be the teacher for my wife is because for me, it is a form of 'bonding'. saka pinapasa mo sa kanya yung responsibility, lalo na kapag may kids na.
yun lang po muna. for now, wife muna hahanapin ko saka na ko magtuturo. hehehehe :D
learned my driving sa socialite - balita ko, iisang grupo lang ang socialite and AI driving. balita ko rin preho silang merong mga bastos na instructors. basic course lang - 5hrs, pero kung walang alam yung esmi anything about cars, tama yung advise ni ian... better instruct your wife on how to operate a car... di lang driving ang mahalaga sa kotse... dapat alam din nya about basic PMS saka what to check before driving the car ...like checking the battery fluid (kung hindi maintenance free yung batt) , coolant level, oil level, brake fluid etc. saka ang pagmamaneho... 10% instruction, 90% lakas ng loob... kahit anong husay magturo ng driving school, kung walang lakas ng loob wife mo.. ala rin. lalo pa sa metro manila traffic natin, nakow! baka himatayin sya ... There's no one better to give her the confidence than you pre. ;) konting himas lang yan and sabihin mo... "honey... this is how you hold my stick shift" hehehe
my youngest daughter just went thru with a1 at P6500 for a 6 hrs package deal;
she was very happy & elated with the experience but the sad thing is my wife cannot accept the fact the kid has grown up and can now manage on her own;
i'm afraid the mother's doubts & fears outweighed the money spent and dampened the girl's enthusiasm in return;

They teach driving(not operating).
They're the guys who handle Honda Media Challenge, & C! Rallye Experience among other things.
They have basic driving, all the way to competition level driving.
if youre in makati, socialite sa may pasay road.
my wife enrolled in socialite espana, naging instructor nya was a veteran driving instructor,
very courteous raw and dinala sya sa mga maliit na kalsada at maraming tao kaya medyo malakas ang loob compared to me when i was just starting to drive
