How many times has your vehicle been involved in an accident?

I'm just curious about this. My vehicle, which has been with me for around 4 years, has been involved in 3 accidents already (not counting the minor dents, scars and scratches accumulated sa everyday use). to differentiate those 3 accidents from the 'minor' ones, this means nagka-police report yun and it involved significant bodywork.

thankfully, buhay pa naman ako pero 3 times na akong binangga in a span of 4 years. i'm afraid my luck wouldn't stretch to a 4th time on the same vehicle.

I'm not superstitious or anything but I'm starting to think na malas ata 'yung kotse ko. heck, I'm even contemplating of selling it and getting a new one na lang.

so how many times na kayo na-involve in an accident on your daily primary vehicle? take note: same vehicle.

my current car (Lan Pizza) has only been in a minor accident once. may nag cut lang sa akin na scooter kaya tumama sya sa lower bumper ko.

my previous car (Lan Singkit) has been with one major accident wherein a jeep used me as his brakes in an intersection.

my first car (VW Beetle) has also been with one major accident, wherein also, a jeep lost control and rammed me head on.

my cars in between have not figured in accidents (a Lan Itlog, a Lan Boxtype)

my first and only accident so far (and i hope it stays at this count) happened when my car was about 3 months old pa lang :sad: and that was more than 3 years ago. Involved was a tricycle who suddenly cut my way. Nag-counterflow sya kaso he realized na di sya pagbibigyan nung kasalubong nyang truck, so nag-cut na lang sya in front of me. And it so happened na tapat ng police outpost nangyari! Had to replace fender. I'm not sure though if hinabol pa ng insurance yung tricycle driver.

Twice pa lang...

Incident #1. I ran over a tire that went over the bed of a delivery truck. My front left tire cracked due to the impact (and MMDA hagad assisted me to change my tire) and I needed an alignment.

Incident #2. A Honda Accord (with plates MLR 333) bumped my right rear bumper while in the middle of traffic. The damage to his Accord is big: bumper, grille, headlight were all damaged and misaligned. The damage costed me P7,000. The driver only paid P2,500 and did not any more return to pay for the rest of the damage. The owner (a Doctor from St. Luke's) also refused to pay for the damage.

So far wala pang accidents, minor nor major. less than 3 months old and nasa 6900Km pa lang ang odometer.

based on some of the posts, why am I getting this sinking feeling na mas madalas ata frequency ng trafic incidents ko wherein binabangga ako?

Use ur gut feeling kung gusto mo ng ibenta yan. Ang masama pag nakakuha ka na ng ibang sasakyan ganun din pala.

Pero sakin, sa tingin ko maiiwasan(or mamiminimize) pa rin. Try the ff:

a.) have a habit of tracking cars around u.
b.) avoid notoriuos routes na gago mga driver
c.) avoid masisikip na routes. Lalo na un ma MC/tricyle.
d.) pag di maiwasan ang letter c. concentrate sa driving mo at wag kang pa distract sa mga ungas na yan maski ano pang harang o parking o singit ang gawain nila.

Its pay to pray para kalmado ka parati. Yan ang key, lagi kang relax.

Saka mas advantage kung mala tanke ang sasakyan mo.

Cyempre insurance for peace of mind.

Naka isa na rin akong accident. D ko naman kasalanan. I failed dun sa letter b. Kasi d ko naman alam un route na un, me hinahanap ako. Kaya maganda me kasama ka pag new ka sa isang area. Or commute muna.

I was involved in an accident once in 4 years. Got rear-ended by a Terrano (from Subic). He claimed his brakes failed. Damage was not very big thank God.

I have been banged,dragged and bumped almost 4 times since my car was bought (2004). It is my first car so iniisip ko na lang na test car ko sya. At least master na ko pag bumili ako ng second car ko. So far okey pa naman sya at wala pa naman major na naging damage sa engine.

3 times since I bought my 2nd hand car in 2001.

1st sa edsa, wala pang 1 month sa akin ang oto. Binangga ako ng fruit delivery jeepney sa rear bumper. It was a saturday afternoon rush hour pauwi ako province. Aminado naman ang driver na mali sya. Since nagmamadali rin ako, areglo na lang, binigyan ako P1k saka 4pcs pineapple.

2nd. Sa aguinaldo hi-way, a bus from a loading stop suddenly swerved to my lane. Ayun yari ang rRH side mirrror ko saka fender. Hindi raw ako napansin, ang liwaliwanag 9am! Magmula noon, palagi ako busina sa mga bus/puj na yan!

3rd. Gitgitan sa intersection, pag green light nahagip ako nang truck na nagmamadali. Damaged LH side mirror ko saka minor scratch sa fender. It was 7pm, hindi na naman daw ako napansin ng driver!

Yung iba, near miss.. a motorbike overtaking on a blind curve almost hit me head on! buti naka iwas sya, yun nga lang sapul rear fender ko, diretso yung kumag parang walang nangyari . Saka isa pa gabi din, involved a bus from the opposite lane na kinakain ang linya ko. Nadaplisan ang LH side mirror ko, buti nag-fold lang, pero sa lakas pagfold niya nabasag ang mirror.
