    in order of preference.

    1. toyota - matibay, reliable, easy to get spare parts

    2. nissan - no comment, haven't owned one

    3. mazda - no comment, haven't owned one

    4. lancer - my car, stock suspension sucks, daming lumalabas na langitngit sa dashboard area kapag around five years old na (even on my previous lancer), but parts are easy to get.

    5. honda ex - no comment, haven't owned one

Corolla or Sentra are the best from the list.

323 Familia GLXi is ok but it guzzles gasoline too much

City EX is ok but why get one when you can get a corolla or sentra?

ano plano mo dito, family car or pang personal lang? biased ako towards corolla, pero ung 97-2000 model kc, medyo naliliitan ako sa likod nya.( The AE101's still got the most room). Better check it out yourself na lang cguro, space is relative i guess B).

On the other hand, pag tipong pang personal, pang date, or pang small family with the typical 2 - 3 kids, corolla ka na. It's bound to serve you well until you get 1 - 2 more kids...by then u'd start looking at AUVs naman B)

The Sentra's a cool ride imho, if not for some nagging doubts about parts availability and cost

    1. 1998 NISSAN SENTRA SUPER SALOON
    - Suspension comfort. Cold A/C (Calsonic). The only thing that I hate about this car is the low lying plastic cover under the steering column. My knee never fails to get bruises or sometimes swollen after hitting them everytime I drove one.

    2. 1997 TOYOTA COROLLA GLI
    - As they say, if it's a Toyota it's reliable. Suspension maybe a bit too stiff for comfort. Though there were some units that had radiator crack problems, some I heard even exploded. This can be rectified by radiator shops which will change the plastic covers into metal. Another problem from our 10 year old unit was the power steering hose. A local crimping store cannot hold the pressure so we had to purchase an OE P/S hose from Toyota which costs 8K.

    5. 1997 MITSUBISHI LANCER GLXI
    - I'm head over heels with their INVECS technology. After driving some Mitsubishi units; Lancer, L200, L300, Colt. All of them had the same problem, annoying suspension sound.
