February 28th, 2006 01:41 PM #21Nagbaba na ng presyo yung Z4, it's now 2.9M. I think it's because malapit na ilabas dito yung Z4C.

For quality and lively handling, Boxster, definitely.
For practicality, an SLK200 isn't bad, despite being more "poseur" than "playa".
For the sheer extroverted "look-at-me" factor, the Z4.
But if you're feeling adventurous, a secondhand M3 convertible is stylish, understated, handles as well as or better than the Boxster, and can kick most other convertibles in the price range into the weeds when you put your foot down.
Or you can get an SL600... 4m downpayment, pay the rest of the 20m later... I see one all the time being driven by a businessman from Laguna... of course, he's always got an armed escort in an SUV behind him to protect his investment. :D

I think it's nonsense to buy a 2nd hand car for 4M. C'mon, at least you should be the first driver given that humongous amount.
In a nice driving environment, I'd pick a BMW M3, the E90 4-door one. I heard it will have around 400 hp. The Evo and WRX are also fun tools, and you don't need to be a pro to drive them. Their 4WD systems will not make you spin like crazy, even on a wet track.

An SLK200 is a very "tame" car and very liveable... the power-top makes it quite convenient and the engine, while not fast, is smooth. It's probably the softer of the two cars, but not having personal experence of the new Boxster, I can't say for sure.
A Boxster is also a very liveable car, it has two trunks and a comfortable cabin. It's the better choice, personally, but at this point, if you've narrowed it down to these two, you owe it to yourself to go and see how they fit you. It's time for a test drive!
